SOURCE: acura cl alarm problems???

To all you Acura alarm sufferers. In the immediate term to appease your neighbors - open the door and reclose, leaving the door ajar enough that the interior door light is still on. Be sure to turn off the roof light so no one is cued your car door is ajar.
When you can go under the hood, remove the fuse - I think it is 15 - the fuse box cover has a diagram. I left the fuse out for a couple of hours and reinserted it. That broke the pattern for 7 months.
It is 89 degrees in chicago today, the alarm went off at the train station and I got a ticket for noise disturbance.
It's time to look at the fuse box again. i think extreme temps are the problem.

SOURCE: The battery died on my

hi margie... This happens because the alarm system is sensing that the car is being stolen. To override this function, hook up the jumper cables again and have the car's key fob in hand.. The horn will start to blow. As soon as it does, using the key fob, lock and then unlock the doors. This will tell the alarm that the car's owner is there and it will the alarm will then "behave" [it won't go off again so that you can jump it peacefully]. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

1999 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0. Bypass the immobilizer.

Tip & How-To about Cars & Trucks

Want to bypass your vehicle security system?
The short answer is you can't!

All modern cars have alarms and immobilizers. There is a transponder in the key and a receiver around the ignition lock. If both are present, the ECM (engine control module) or BCM (Body Control Module) releases power to the ignition circuit or the starter. When you turn the key, the starter spins the engine and you get a spark. If any one of those three items are not in the chain, you get the engine to turn, but no spark. There is no way to beat the system. You have to fix what is wrong, not find a way around it.

The immobilizer is in place to stop exactly what you are trying to do.

2006 honda accord inertia switch location

All sorts of answers here, bad battery / immobiliser / keys need programming / caused by towing.

This;
The flashing green key is your immobilizer indicator. My recommendation (I am a certified honda tech) is take it to your local acura dealer and have them do a hard reset of the immobilizer and reprogram your keys.

It could also be a bad immobilizer itself. If it is a bad immobilizer, the tech will be able to tell through the diagnostic system used to program keys.

Remote start works but shuts off right away

When you say right away....it is as soon as the vehicle starts....or is it 10-15-30 seconds later? Is this a factory remote start? If not, and you installed an aftermarket one, what is probably occurring is that your factory anti-theft system is seeing the vehicle running without the key in the ignition and activates the immobilizer which shuts down the vehicle. Aftermarket remote starts require adapter electronics to bypass the immobilizer until the operator enters the vehicle and inserts the key. This is why most aftermarket alarm systems are installed by trained pros.

My 99 Acura 3tl flashes a green key on dashboard and stalls out. I can get it restarted after sitting for a while. What's wrong??

You have an issue with the immobilizer built into the key. You will have to take it to the dealer for further diagnosis.

2005 subaru outback immobilizer reset? Alarm was set with door being unlocked with key, immobilizer shut off all power. How can this be reset?

This could be a few things. If the security system was enabled and you just unlocked the door with a key and not using the remote, then all you have to do is put the key in the ignition and turn on/off three times. That's it!

Some cars have immobilizer keys. The immobilizer prevents unauthorized keys from starting the car (yours may or may not have it, depending on the exact Outback model).

Look here for the different styles of immobilizer keys:

No power after removing the alarm

Depending on what you mean by removing the alarm it could be a few things. I'll assume it was a factory alarm with an immobilizer. If so you have triggered the immobilizer which in turn told the vehicle's computer that the vehicle had been stolen. Once the code is sent the car will not start.

You need and ODB III to tell the computer to reset. The dealer can do this for you ($40 of so)

Depending on the vehicle it may lock again if the immobilizer is disconnected (assuming factory unit).

Hope this helps. Please rate if it helps you.
