Have a 1998 dodge stratus, it has no spark, it cranks fine but won't kick over, I changed the crank sensor and still nothing does anyone have any other solution?

It has 2.5 v6 motor in it, when I would drive the speedometer would go down to zero and the rpm's would fall and then they would jump back up and it did that for a while, and now it just won't start, it has no spark to it or anything, I changed the crank sensor and it still won't start.

Sound like a short, bad connection to the tach. Check that wiring before you do anything else. Had this problem on a chevy

SOURCE: 2003 stratus cam sensor replaced still unresolved

you bypassed the wires that connect to the sensors? that would have been my first guess the harness that plugs into the sensor. after that i would check the ground connection from the ecm. wouldn't hurt to check the battery posts too. if the battery posts are oxidized you can have all kinds of goofy electrical problems. hope that helps.

4x4 v8 1998 dodge truck won't start

well if ur not getting spark and u changed all of the ignition components lets think about the computer in order for the ignition to work you have crankshaft position sensor that fires the fuel injectors and the spark change that and if still nothing then change the camshaft postion sensor that sensor tells the computer that the 1 piston has came all the way up and it tells the crankshaft sensor to do its thing

2006 dodge stratus won't crank and cruise control won't light

Must not have been much of a mechanic. If the engine runs and sounds fine sometimes and other times it doesn't then it does not sound like a mechanical problem with the engine. Sounds more like a issue with either the ignition system or fuel system.

My 2005 dodge neon sxt wont start, no spark, changed cam shaft sensor, coil is good, cant find the crankshaft sensor, also wondered if it could be the timing belt, what do you think?

the crank sensor is on the back side of the engine just above the oil pan there will be two sensors there one is the crank sensor and the other is oil presser sensor. All so check the wires from the crank sensor to the cam sensor. If you think it is the timing belt pull the cover and check it. hope this helps.

My 98 dodge stratus won't startbut it will turn

You need to check if its got air, fuel, and spark. spray some throttle body cleaner in the throttle body and quickly try to start it. if it fires up then your not getting fuel so you may need a fuel pump and filter. If it does nothing check for spark, if you have no spark then you need to check the coils and crank position sensor.

I have a 2001 dodge stratus se 2.7 liter and it will not start...i recently had problems when i first started it...it would idle up and down which was very wierd and it would cut out once in a while until...

Make sure battery has a full charge. If it cranks good but won't start, check the basics. Have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse.
If your missing everything, I'd check the cam and crank sensor signals. I realize you replaced the crank sensor.
Any applicable trouble codes? I don't know what testing you have done?
With idle issues clean the throttle body and idle air control, see if it helps? Could be other issues?
