Hey i lost my keys with a transponder in them,i replaced the key ignition barrel, computer and the thing stil wont start?its turning over but not firing and a ! in a circle lights up on the dash.can anyone please help me sort this.maybe i have to take it to toyota to reset the main computer??
Sure, I would sell you the same parts, IF I was interested in robbing you, BUT, I have no interest in having dissatisfied customers...So, here is what I need you to do: Call this number: 1-877-517-LOCK
This is my local locksmith, and he is cool...Tell them that I gave you this number. He has a machine, on his truck, that will reprogram your key to match the ECU/barrel combo in your car. Now, I do not expect you to have him come to your location, but, he may give you the info that HE has, his machine, and then you could call local locksmiths to see if they have the same gizmo that he has, to solve your problem. Secondly, there is an ECU exchange program from Toyota, that your dealer ssomehow neglected to tell you about, but it would cost you about 700.00 to get you going. Call the locksmiths first, and get back to me if my guy won't help you. This is the best that I can do, up to this point. Hope this helps. Advise of what transpires.

hey yes i brought the keys with the barrel(with transponder around it) and ecu.the whole unit is from the same car and match.but do i need a master computer system reboot???
hey my local toyota dealer said about $2000 to get it all new from them..abit much i think
You need the keys, the transponder amplifier (behind the ignition), and the ECU. If everything is hooked up right, it should start. If not, you may have a bad amp or ECU.
There is a new program for customers who have lost their transponder keys; Toyota will replace your ECU, for free, if you purchase the keys and the amplifier.
Unless you were given the keys to the vehicle that the parts came out of, you will not be able to get the car to start. The transponder key, the ECU, the ignition barrel and the transponder recognition unit all need to match.
Question: Where did you obtain the ignition barrel and the computer?
This is critical for me to sort out your issue.
I also think that I may have a very good solution. Please comment back.
