Both are possible. But it can be blower motor issue mostly. Its taking too load and that's blowing the fuse. How to Test and Replace Blower motor on car? http://repairhelpcenter.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-to-test-and-replace-blower-motor-on.html--------- How to Replace Blower Motor Wheel? http://repairhelpcenter.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-to-replace-blower-motor-wheel.html

It's less than foot from the heater core. I would guess that either the damper doors are not on correctly or the vent hoses are not hooked up. Can you hear the blower motor running? Maybe they didn't hook the motor back up when they replaced the heater core. It takes a ground and a hot wire.I can't remember where it's at but it may be part of the same unit. Did you check the fuse?

SOURCE: Heater bower won't blow

could be a faulty switch, or bad ground. here is what you do. #1 wiring diagrahm examing this to understand how the circuit works-fuse, relay, control
device-is it a resistor switch or is there a transistor
easy to determine -resistor switch has -three settings, transistors are capable of more. #2 being that you know how to disconnect the blower motor you can check the supply side of the circuit-obtain a digital multimeter-dvom, connect the ground lead to a good known ground place the positive lead on to the positve wire at the blower motor harness (blower motor disconnected) switching fan speed on thru selections read the values of your voltmeter-low speed should be low voltage (12v system) high speed should be full 12v . if no power supplied at all a switch input test would be required (this will require ohm meter and check resistance) you will be expecting continuity, low speed will be alot of resistance, higher speed will be less resistance-max will be no resistance. if the switch is deemed good-see if there is power into the switch, if so check for continuity from switch harness to blower motor-measure the resistance-should be no less than 0.1ohms. remember when checking continuity the ciruit must be iscolated.

It sounds like a short somewhere in the wiring to that system. You'll have to test all of the wires with an ohm meter to find it. It's easier if you have the wiring diagram for it

2006 Amanti blower will not run and keeps blowing fuse. The blower motor turns freely by hand.

There is a short circuit on the B+ power circuit for the blower motor ! Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop ! Finding electrical shorts can be tough ,even for seasoned tech > There are videos on youtube on finding short circuits an basic electrical trouble shooting , how to read a wiring diagram ! You can find a wiring diagram at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . Troubleshoot Car Electrical Problem .

Will blower resister cause fuse to blow?

Only if it shorts to ground A more likely cause would be the blower motor or blower relay or pinched wire .Try disconnecting connector to the blower motor then replacing the fuse if you turn on the fan switch and the fuse doesn't blow replace the motor. you can also do the same with the resistor if you suspect it.

96 mustang gt ac blows fuse after 5 minutes. Replaced field coil. Jumped low pressure switch. Blows 10 amp fuse in 2 minutes, 15 amp fuse in 5 minutes

it sounds to me like a AC resistor issue i have a beemer that did that same thing to me and it turn out that it was my ac resistor it would burn out my 30 amp ac fuse in 2 to 3 minutes usually when the resistors in a circuit break they tend to burn out the fuses as a warning. easy way to find out is by putting in a new fuse and after a minute go touch the negative lead on you battery if the cable is really hot then there's a short in the circuit or in the case of your ac it would be a broken resistor.

WHEN I TURN ON THE BLOWER MOTOR IT INSTANTLY BLOWS BOTH THE BLOWER MOTOR FUSES ANY SUGUSTIONS ON WHERE I CAN START TO LOOK FOR A PROBLEM I ALSO UNPLUGED THE MOTOR WIRE AND TURNED IT ON AND IT STILL BLEW...

The purpose of a fuse is to protect the wiring in a circuit. If it blows it is because of an overload which would occur if the blower motor is siezed or there is a short in the wiring. My first instinct is a problem with the blower motor. Try isolate the blower - disconnect the leads to the motor - and try switch it on. If the fuse blows again the problem would then be a shorted wire.

1986 RV blows instrument panel fuse when switch pulled

The headlight switch has a rheostat built into it to dim your dash lights, it may have shorted out. As soon as you turn on the switch this rheostat comes into play and is probably whats blowing the fuse. I think if you replace the headlight switch, it will solve your problems.
