I have a 2000 Honda Accord and as I accelerate over 45 mph the care starts making a progressively louder humming/buzzing sound. When I turn slightly to the right the noise will go away. It doesn't sound like it is coming from the engine, but I can't really identify where it is coming from (maybe from the wheels). Any ideas what might be causing this? I did replace tires recently but dont remember the sound coming as a result of this. At low speeds the noise is not too bad, but as I hit 75-80 it gets very loud.

No, not much vibrating that I can tell. at 85-90 it is still really loud and I don't test it much more than that. Some other google answers have suggested maybe a wheel bearing, but is there a way to determine whether it would be a front or rear wheel problem?
sounds like a bearing. jack the front end up first and spin the wheel by hand on each side, fast and slow, if there is a sound like two ball bearings clinking together then it is the bearing and will need replacing. try the same thing with the back end.Do remember to take the hand brake off and chock the front wheels on a level surface!
p.s. I have 4 solutions to my problem and i'm new to this site. but can't find them. do they just come into my e-mail or is there some where on this site i can access the results
I get an email each time, but if you click on your user name and then go to the problems tab you should be able to view it. However if the problem you are talking about is the search engine question I don't see any solutions yet. Wish I knew the answer but my tech savvy is as bad as my automotive knowledge. Good luck
Yes that was me! Thanks for that.
Let me know how you get on with the car. If its not the bearing then there are a few odd things to try. they are manufacturing problems and many people have complained about them so you are not the only one. i once had a small loose stone trapped in the wheel cover drove me mad for months till my mate nicked them. and we found out the problem, there was 1500 people reporting the same problem on the manufacturers webs. they all new it was wheel based. but the first thing you take off to chech is the wheel cover!!!
Have you checked your reflector panel? it may be loose causing it to vibrate. as it loosens, it can rub against the left front wheele when you make a sharp right turn causing a terrible scraping metal sound.
