providing your coolant is full cause low coolant will cause no heat
and your temp gauge is normal in the middle then most likely u have a bad blend door actuator usually on the passenger side

If the engine is properly warmed the heater should provide warm air if there is circulation through the heater matrix.

The fact there is no warm air must mean there is limited or no circulation at idle. It might be a "problem" design or it could be an indication the degassing system is blocked or perhaps a cylinder head gasket is failing.

It might be possible to modify a problem system. I once encountered a car with the same symptom. The reason was the manufacturer had piped the heated intake manifold in parallel with the heater instead of in series with the result at low speed the available flow took the line of least resistance through the intake manifold leaving none for the heater. Fitting a restriction to the manifold supply restored heat to the cabin.

I doubt it is normal as the dealer told you. I can't imagine Ford producing any vehicle that has a cold heater at idle and it would be reasonable to assume there is a fault. Contacting Ford customer service might provide valuable intelligence, details of official modifications and so forth.

If all else fails it could be easier to fit an electric coolant pump into the heater pipes. Mercedes use such a pump on their Vito van.

The heating coil is probably getting plugged up. You may have heat at idle or slow speeds, but once you get going, there is not enough coolant going through it to stay warm. Get the system flushed or replace the heating coil.

That seems pretty normal, the heater works by blowing excess heat from the engine coolant. So the coolant has to be warmed completely for the heat to work, you can get a heater that plugs into your cigarette lighter that will heat the vehicle instantly.
