In my 06 ram mega cab the REC navigation radio 6disc dvd system the display will go blank and I willalso loose all functions except use of volume and stored preset radio chanels. I can install and load cd's and eject them. Periodically the system will work and I can acess all the functions, this can last a short time or longer times. Can this be repaired or do you have to spend the 2500 for a new radio?

Oddly enough something similar recently happened to my 2009 650i recently purchased. The system would intermittently cut out and restart, turning on the radio even with another source selected or radio off. No idea if there is a short or software issue causing it, but it started when I put the navigation DVD in and tried to use it. Took the DVD out and restarted the system, problem hasn’t returned. I’ve read about others having similar issues with the navigation system causing the radio/idrive to cut out as well. It’s a long shot, but worth posting so others don’t spend money chasing a problem solved by using your smartphone instead of the car’s navigation.
That is a generic TCM malfunction code. It means that something is wrong with your transmission control module. Not enough to pinpoint a specific circuit or sensor
check the sensors and connections may have loosened or knocked one loose if they look ok than have truck scanned most auto stores such as auto zone/advanced auto scan for free the trouble code will narrow the problem
You definitely gotta have the dealer ship redo the wiring for the navigational system. Although the wires didn't short anything out, but the two similar wires may have been crossed during the installation. Aftermarket or not, the unit should have made no difference unless it is a defective unit.
I own a 2002 lexus LS 430 with navigation system. The radio plays, but the volume and function on cd player does not work. The volume is real low and cant be turned up at all.
