Fuse panel diagram 2006 350z

Continuous battery draw. Need to isolate the problem

  • Anonymous Jan 22, 2012

Thanks, I have isolated the fuse that is connecting whatever is causing the draw. Unfortunately it is labeled "Misc. Elec" leaving me not much closer to the root of the problem as this is pretty vague.

SOURCE: NEED TO REMOVE DRIVERS DOOR PANEL ON A 2006 NISSAN

I did this myself before:

Removing the Door Panel

The first thing to do is remove the tab in your door handle that covers the screw (using the flat head screw driver), which secures the handle and window/lock switches to the door panel. Using the Phillips head screw driver, remove the screw. Now, remove the door handle and locate the tabs securing the wire harness for the door locks & power windows. Using the flat head, push down on the tabs and pull the male end out of the wire harness with your other hand. You can now locate 2 of the 3 bolts/screws that secure the door panel to the door.Using the 10mm socket, 3′ extension, and the 1/4′ drive socket wrench – remove the bolts/screws. Located behind the interior door handle is a plastic covering with a hole cut in it, that goes around the rubber piece that is there to stop the handle.Use the flat head screw driver to remove that plastic piece. Behind that piece, you will find the 3rd and final bolt/screw that secures the door panel. Using the 10mm socket, 3′ extension, and 1/4′ drive socket wrench, remove the bolt/screw. At this point you can pull the door panel off by hand. There are only tabs holding it on now, and they all will pop off. Now on the inside of the panel, you will need to locate the backside of the interior door handle. Remove the cables that operate the door lock, and opening mechanism. No tools are required for this step. Now you have the metal door panel, which is secured by 11-12 bolts/screws around the boarder of the panel.Locate the wire harness for the window motor in the upper right corner of the metal door panel. Using the flat head screw driver, disconnect the wire harness. After removing the panel, you will need to push the rubber grommet through the panel – the wire is attached to it. There will also be two white tabs on the backside of the panel that secure the female end of the window motor wire harness to the panel. Using your fingers (or pliers) pinch them, to remove the harness.

At this point, you can remove the 11 – 12 bolts/screws that are holding the panel to the door. The panel will not fully remove, but will come off a little bit. Now for the gold colored bolts/screws and nuts.Three of the bolts/screws are what secure the window motor to the panel. The other two bolts/screws, and the 2 nuts hold the brackets that hold the glass in place.there is one of these bolts/screws, and one of these nuts on each bracket (on each side). Using the 10mm socket, remove all of the bolts/screws.The Nuts are a 12mm socket; remove them as well. The panel should now come off, and the motor & guts of the door, will be revealed.

SOURCE: I need to replace battery

Take it to a garage and pay the $24 to have them install it, they are responsible for the radio codes and any other problem that can occure when changing a battery in the newer cars.

2003 Ford Escape parasitic drain from fuse BTN2.

You will need to isolate the various loads to determine which is the culprit. The after market stereo should go dark when key is in off position and a door is open.

Theres a problem with Ford instrument panels (cluster) not sleeping. I'd isolate the radio first and then the cluster.

I have a used 2012 that gave me fits with parasitics. The following are contributors along with my work arounds.

Remote FOB low battery (replace fob battery)
SYNC software out of date (factory reset and dont use)
Sun roof (to close; auto open to full then auto close)

Probably something else powered up by that fuse . Looking at a wiring diagram or electrical distribution diagram to see if what else is on the circuit . Is fuse # 12 a 15 amp fuse ? Here is a web site for free wiring diagrams http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model etc..... Under system click on electrical distribution , then under subsystem click junction block . Click the search button then the second blue link , then scroll down to the # 7 diagram . Look at all that fuse powers up. isolate the circuit's . Disconnect them one at a time till draw stops .

99 cadillac battery draw

You have to find out what all is on those fuse's and isolate the circuits till you find the draw . Looking at a electrical distribution chart would help ! Free diagrams at http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
After entering vehicle info . under system click on electrical distribution , then under subsystem click on fuse panel . This will tell you what all that fuse power's up . Disconnect componets till draw goes away . Could be a bad BCM or some other module not powering down .

Battery drains over night. Fuses have been tested. Pulled radio fuse but thrre is still a draw.

You need to isolate the draw by installing an ammeter in series with the battery. Remove the negative cable and hook one end of the meter to the cable and the other to the battery and see what amperage is drawn. Start removing fuses one at a time till the draw on the meter drops. This will tell you what fuse it is and what that fuse controls. You then have to find what is causing the draw from what the fuse controls. This can be a tedious task.

How can I determine battery draw-down?

sounds like it could be a relay, but that is not normal, no relay should turn on just from hooking up battery power. Maybe it's related to your draw. I would go ahead with the fuses. Do you need a wiring diagram? BBB Industries has free wiring diagrams, every system, for every make and model. Once you have found the culprit fuse and circuit, you could check that circuit here:
http://www.bbbind.com/technical.html

You might have a bulb lit somewhere, about the right amperage. Is your little rheostat dimmer for interior lights on?

My battery is going down over night and i bought a new battery and it still goes down over night.

Have your alternator checked, it may charge some but not enough to keep your battery charged. If it has an internal short (blown diode)it can discharge your battery.

Electrical draw CTSY FUSE

I wonder if the buzzing is coming from the key switch ? (ignition ) . CTSY is always HOT ! you need a wire diagram to see where CTSY wires travel to & from to isolate this draw . I found that the CTSY 20amp fuse is also wired to the parking lights 20A fuse @ fuse block . start there, check all wires, grounds to parking lamps, and switch, it might be your headlight switch thats causing your problem ! replace it and see what happens !

2006 acura tl #6 fuse, interior light, draws to much amps with car switched off , take fuse out , fine ,if dont take fuse out , kills battery in 4 or 5 days

You get a wiring diagram of that circuit

From there you will see what could stay on,
if that item failed, even though the car is turned

Before you say too many AMPS, always test to
confirm what your assumptions are.

Test,don't guess
