Park vehicle on level ground.
2. Remove battery from vehicle.
3. Remove air cleaner outlet hose, engine under cover ( right side ) and exhaust pipe # 2 .
4. Disconnect " B " terminal wire and coupler from the Alternator ( Generator ) .
5. Remove Alternator ( Generator ) belt.

6. Remove power steering pump. Do not disconnect hoses.
6. Remove Alternator ( Generator ) cover.
7. Remove Alternator ( Generator ) bracket mounting bolts.
8. Remove Alternator ( Generator ).

Power Steering pump has three bolts- 2 behind the pulley at 12 and 6 o'clock and one bolt on the back.

Once you get the power steering pump out of the way you can remove the last bolt on the alternator

Ok...I did not remove axle or disconnect hoses on power steering...I did unbolt power steering pump and moved off to side.

after that I disconnected sensor on throttle body and very carefully lifted alternator through the top where your air intake assembly would have been at, right next to A.C. refrigerant lines. It takes a minute , you HAVE TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE SENSOR!!

However it is a lot faster that taking off drive shaft and exhaust pipe!

If you go to AutoZone .com they have exploded diagrams of the parts you have to take off and they will show you bolt locations, the power steering pump bolt at 6 o'clock drove me crazy.

P.S. Get a ratcheting 12 mil wrench, it's a life and knuckle saver!!

How to remove altenator for 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3 litre

Before the step-by-step instructions I want to make sure this is the Alternator that needs to be replaced and not something else. This will save you money for an Alternator you don't need and save you time for replacing a good alternator.
Start the vehicle. With the engine running - disconnect the Negative Cable from the Battery. If the Engine dies - it is the Alternator. If it doesn't die - it is not the Alternator. I have had plenty of people who have replaced perfectly good Alternators only to find out it was something else.
    Step-by-step:
    1. Disconnect the Negative Cable from the Battery.
    2. Using a 15mm closed end wrench/bar - Rotate the Belt Tensioner towards the front of the vehicle and remove the Surpentine Belt off the Alternator. You do not have to take it completely off the vehicle.
    3. Remove the bolt holding the top of the Alternator Mounting Bracket to the Engine Air Intake.
    4. Remove the bolts (plural) holding the outside of the Alternator Mounting Bracket to the Alternator Mounting Plate.
    5. Remove the bolt holding the top of the Alternator to Alternator Mounting Bracket.
    6. Remove the Alternator Mounting Plate.
    7. Remove the the Altenator Mouting Bracket.
    8. Rotate the Alternator towards the rear.
    9. Discoonect the electrical connections (plural), including the nut holding the wire on.
    10. Remove the lower Pivot bolt located at the bottom of the alternator.
    11. Remove the alternator.
    12. Installation is reverse of above.

Need to know how hard it is to replace alternator on 2001sephia

The alternator is located behind the head of the engine on the passenger side of the vehicle. There are 3 bolts that will have to be loosen or removed so the alternator can be removed too. Also the electrical wires will need to be removed. There should be at least 2 of them. One snaps or pulls off and the other can be loosen with a 10 mm wrench of socket. You'll need a 12 mm socket or wrench and a 14 mm wrench or socket to get to the bolts. Once that is acquired, the alternator should come right off. You'll need to go under the vehicle to gain access to the bottom bolt of the alternator. Replace the new one in reverse order.
