Car stalls after turn or idle - 2000 Ford Focus

Did you clean the idle air control motor, when you cleaned the throttle. Also check for vacuum leaks. The PCM controls the IAC motor. If it to dirty it can stick. Can cause a surge and stall.

there is a sensor that will increase engine revs when turning at slow speed , i expect this is the issue, to check get the OBD codes read to confirm

It can be low fuel pressure issue or clogged fuel pump. Or its engine related issues,---------------

vacum leak or idle air controll

This is normally caused by your cars idle up. The idle up engages when you turn on the AC and that will add few RPM for your engine to prevent your engine from stalling. A replacement is needed to fix the problem. You may also check for the vacuum routing sticker on your hood. If you have a vacuum routing sticker on your hood, refer to that. The hose from the IAC valve routes to the Idle Up switch (as you know) the other hose from the idle up switch routes to the passenger end of the intake plenum, right on the end of it toward the firewall side. Don't confuse rubber heat shield on hose for hose size.

Sounds like the choke needs to be turned down slightly and the idle turned up?

this is caused by slow engine idle speed, do the procedure below.
Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

It could be the AC Compressor, or the idle air valve

the engine compensates for the load try turning up the idle screw also check the ignition system you might just need new wires and or cap rotor or your coil is bad also plugs
