My 94 Legend has over 200k miles but runs strong. I recently had the speed sensor changed. it shifts strong 1,2 D. BUT ......since repalcing the vvs the speed odomiter is off by 10 miles per hr and the transmition vibrates and seems unsure if it should shift when going up a slight incline at highway speeds. is it possible they installed the wrong vvs??
Hi yes if its registaring 10 mile out it will be sending wrong information to the gearbox replace it with one that works yates210456
hi logicly which all mechanical problems are if you were a betting man if it wasn,t doing it before and now something has been replaced and now there is a problem do you beleive in coincidence as i don,t i am not having a go at the mechanic if i had done this job and the speedo is showing a diffrent reading and there was a problem it is the first place i would look as nobodies infalable these things happen and the gearbox only acts to what the sensors tell is to do it would be like a manuall box and your setting off in the wrong gear and when your going up a hill the box automaticly drops down a gear if your car due to the speed its being told its doing but is not actully doing the box will sturggle more as itcannot pick the correct gear to be in your right about wrong size of wheels cause a problem with the speedometer as does the final drive but these havn,t been touched just because something is new does not mean its not faulty i grant you unlikley but it wouldn,t be the first time i have had faulty parts or wrong parts fitted if you have the tolerances for the vss sensor it can be checked best of luck paul

Follow up question. Will the wrong vvs or one that isnt working properly cause the speed odomiter to show the 10 miles per hour too fast?
The mechanic who installed it doesnt think so. I have driven this car for 215k miles it never was off before. The correct tires are on it etc.....
