Overdrive switch button on gear shift does not work and am blowing fuse to instrument cluster and accelerator. how do i replace switch?
SOURCE: electrical problem
I finally broke down and took my truck to the dealer. It took them two tries, but they finally figured it out. It turned out to be the wiring harnes for the shift lever. When it exits the steering column, it was being chafed, and eventually wore through a wire and was intermittently shorting. It would blow a fuse (don't remember which one - I think it was on the bottom row, third in from the right. 20A). It stopped the alternator from charging too. They replaced the shifter harness and the problem went away. I did get a ticket while my speedo was inop however.
SOURCE: Instrument cluster failure causes fuse #29 to blow.
ok it could be quite simple
lets look at wrong size fuse
example 15 and you need a 25 fuse
also if you did any work on vehicle its quite possible that you grounded something out wrong retrace your work and fix accordingly
bad cluster relay is another problem that would cause these problems

I had the same issue with my 2002 F250 7.3 L. The overdrive switch was shorting the circuit due to exposed wires in the steering colum. I replaced the switch and resolved the problem.

has the trans ever been serviced? it should have the fluid and filter changed every 60,000 miles, this may help if it hasn't been done, also check for clutch mud in the pan of the trans..
SOURCE: the overdrive light flashing and shifted hard.
This is going to be a shift solonoid problem. they are located on the bottom of the trans inside the trans pan. I would have it checked soon before it does internal damage will save you a lot of money.
Good Luck, And i hope this helps a bit.
