SOURCE: on my org. steering colum

If you are using the key and switch that was in replacement column, the resistance of the key pellet for your car is wrong. Provided you connected everything up then the easiest way would be to take your old key (out of old part) and the key from your replacement column to a Cadillac dealer. They can read the resistance of your old key and cut you a new key with the proper resistor. That should start your car.

My 2005 buick rendezvous has been attempted to be stolen cant start it with key

if they tried to pull the wheel lock located in the steering colum. they may have damaged the key sensor that read you security codes off the key. which means you`ll need to replace the key sensor in the colum. Unless they pulled a wire off under the steering colum. look down the steering colum and up underneath and see if there are any plugs out. PS some cars are designed of extra accessories which case you may find a few plugs away from the colum that aren`t connected to any thing these won`t be the issue but.

How do you change the rod and pinion

I'd say before doing anything costly have a look at your power steering fluid level and make sure it's topped up, most of the time a stiff steering wheel is cause by either a low fluid level or faulty power steering pump ( in this case the engine would make noise every time you turn the wheels). Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!

Steering column loose and causes auto to stall and jump out of gear when steering wheel moves.

There are 3 tilt colum screws deep inside the colum, it's common for them to come loose and eventually cause wiring problems. special tools are required to thighten the torx head screws.

Used colums for that year are cheap however.
