Can anyone tell me where the engine coolant temperature sensor is located on a 1994 cadillac deville concours

The problem we have been having with the car is overheating, the coolant bubbles in the overflow tank, the computer tells us the engine coolant is hot, then says engine overheating, then shut down motor, we replaced radiatior, thermostat, radiator cap, and bled the system while filling with coolant, as per mechanics instructions. The car still overheats. We had the engine checked for blown head gasket, etc, checks out fine. It was suggested to install a new coolant temperature sensor. Also, both fans are in proper working order. Thanks for your help

Ok, here goes. With the radiator cap off and the engine running should their be spitting out the tank?? When the cap is on you can hear bubbling similar to boiling. Also, how do you bleed the system, the chilton manual does not mention that, or if it does, we can't find that info. Thanks for helping

On my car, which is the same as yours, it is located on the manifold top back left. Pictures in the book just show it on top.

Look if the engine is doing what you say then it is overheating and there is no problem with the sensor, remember the sensor only tells what is going on, it does not cause anything like overheating. Have you bled the system of air, there is a factory procedure to do this.

What does code P 119 mean on my Cadillac 1994 Seville STS

P0119 Cadillac Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Intermittent

- Faulty engine coolant thermostat
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical circuit poor connection What about the obd code? The Engine Control Module (ECM) detected an erratic signal from the engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor during the system monitor test Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0119 Cadillac Description The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is used to detect the engine coolant temperature. The sensor modifies a voltage signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The modified signal returns to the ECM as the engine coolant temperature input. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increases.

Where is knock sensor in a 1994 cadillac deville

Knock sensor is on the right (passenger) end of the engine, and will activate if at least one of the cylinders is misfiring.

Failed ect sensor thermostat reading over 270f

It means you should try replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor as it has probably failed (it's located on the driver's end of the engine at the middle about half way down).

Location of cooling fan sending unit 1999 cadillac deville?

If you are refering to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor,it is located on the right rear of the engine below the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

HINT: If your Deville is equipped with the analog instrument cluster and the temperature gauge is working, or if you have the digital instrument cluster and the driver information center (DIC) has been diplaying messages telling you that the engine is hot, the problem with your engine cooling fans is NOT the sensor.
