The lightning bolt warning light alerts you to a fault in the electronic throttle control system in your vehicle. This may be a faulty throttle body, the throttle body sensor or possibly the throttle body control motor which is what controls the opening and closing of the throttle body as the motor requires more fuel.

Hello, The first thing we need to is see what fault codes are setting. With the
doors closed cycle the key from off to on three times ending with it on
and watch the digital odometer display. Don't crank the engine, just
off to on. The codes start with a P and have four numbers, there may be
more than one stored. Write down any that you see and post them here.
Here is a short video of the procedure to retrive codes.
The car is probably on a steep hill and a lot of pressure is on the park pawl in the automatic transmission. If this is the case, a hard sudden pull should release it. Make sure the brake is on. When parking on a hill in the future use the parking brake before placing the lever in park.
Had the same problem. Would be driving down the road and the red lightning bolt light would go on. Unable to accelerate and car started jerking. Would have to pull over and turn car off then turn back on to buy some more time. Needed to replace the Throttle Position Sensor, but you can't get that part by itself. You have to replace the Throttle Body.
I could be that the sensor could be dirty. They sell a spray at your local auto parts store specificly for the throttle body. It's should be connected to your air filter housing. Just try to clean the sensors and use the spray for the throttle body and that should help. Good Luck... It work for me...
I have an 08 Sebring and mine has been having the etc light come on and the car will stall..with little to no notice. It's at the dealer right now and they can't figure out what is causing this because the light doesn't stay on once you turn off the car and restart it. It's kind of relieving to me that someone else is having this problem. Hopefully Chrysler can figure out what the deal is with this!!
