Can't get the pwr window to go all the way up even after replacing motor

I replaced the motor on the driver's side but it did not fix the problem of the window getting stuck half way up. I greases the window tracks but that didn't help either. What else should I look at?

More info please. I'd replace the switch that is involved if jumpering the switch connections DOES NOT give you the stuck 1/2 way problem. Also is this one of those Auto-down types? Does it stick 1/2 way up, 1/2 way down, or both?

SOURCE: Blower motor was working fine and then didn't

The best way to test this is to replace the blower motor resistor. If after replacement the blower is again working, you've got your answer. If not, you most likely have a bad blower motor. A bad blower motor resistor is an extremely common issue with GM products. One symptom is the loss of different speeds until eventually the blower will either be stuck with one speed or not work at all.

Which wires to bypass driver side window to go down on a 2002 pontiac Montana

You can't. The motors draw a lot of power, it has to go through a relay. Don't try and work round it, fix the issue. Go down to a local breaker if you need a switch unit.

I have a 2002 ford Taurus & the drivers side

There is no way to ever know what a vehicle
repair would cost & only a fool would quote
a price without first diagnosing the issues AFTER
they have things apart
The last shop let you down
Most window problems are a broken window regulator
Could be the switch was worn & was replaced, the relay
if there even is one & windows seldom have a relay, they just
have a circuit breaker for the motor.
The regulator was going & they failed to remove the door panel
to check it

Power window doesn't work

The window motors don't have brushes to replace,
you should see & feel that,as your inside the door

You remove the regulator assy & motor together,
then the motor

You will have bolts to remove & possibly rivets to
drill out

I have a 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood with two front window motors that have stopped working, and a rear passenger side window that will only go down. I am trying to replace the driver window now and have...

I had an 86 Deville

You have to drill out the rivets
-- to remove the window regulator & motor assy

If the motor is bad (test it-put battery
12v to it) then you drill out the smaller
rivets to remove the motor & keep the
window regulator if good.

If the regulator is bad, remove the good motor
& put it in the new regulator

The regulator can be bolted back in as you
will not have a big size pop rivet tool for that,

Before you remove the rivets, check the height of the
window glass above the door, when window is down
You can set it just above the molding per build or down
even by adjusting how you bolt the regulator in

The regulators wear out & cause a sloppy window movement
& the plastic on top can not be fixed

nor can you afford one.

2002 pontiac montana passanger pwr window

I beleive you need to change the Power Window Switches Module in the drivers side door panel, as these connections are interlinked within this module and it is usually the first part that fails. Especially that you already changed the switches & motor in the passenger door and it still does not work. Once you remove the dual switch module in the driver's side door, you will understand what I mean. Plus it is really easy to access. Good luck! I have the same model, Claude
