Will a starter from a 2008 Ford escape fit onto a 2008 Ford ranger

No, a starter from a 2008 Ford Escape will not fit onto a 2008 Ford Ranger. The starters are specific to each vehicle model and are not interchangeable. The starter is responsible for delivering the electrical current necessary to turn the engine over and start the vehicle, and the design of the starter is different for each vehicle model to fit in the specific engine bay and connect to the battery and solenoid correctly.
If you need to replace the starter in your 2008 Ford Ranger, it's important to use the correct starter designed for your specific vehicle model to ensure proper fit and performance. You can find the right starter for your Ranger by checking the owner's manual or by contacting a Ford dealership or auto parts store.

Engine stops when I place it in reverse or drive

You can in most cases repair this slow speed stall or unstable idle by cleaning the engine throttle valve and the idle speed control valve using a product called CRC Spray Throttle valve cleaner. Spray the cleaner into the air intake of the engine with the hose removed from the throttle body, the engine will try to stall so hold up the idle speed manually. Once you have used up about 1/2 can of the cleaner stall the engine out while spraying and turn the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnect and drive the car for a about 25 miles of varied driving modes. If this doesn't cure the problem you may need the fuel injectors professionally cleaned by the dealer service dept.

Honda Fit turns off on stop signs

I have a 2007 Honda Fit and I had the same thing happen to me. It was soooo frustrating. The first 10 minutes after turning on my car, I couldn't press the break or the engine would turn off completely. It would turn off at stop signs and red lights. But after driving for a little bit, it would break just fine. My husband and I researched a lot online and found a lot of people saying the problem was that it needed a valve adjustment. We were reluctant to pay for a formal diagnosis so we called a couple local Honda dealerships and asked about getting a valve adjustment. They both acted like that was crazy and said Fits don't even need a valve adjustment. I finally took it in for a diagnosis and they called me the next day and said the problem was defiantly the quality of my fuel. They told me to go to Chevron and use Techron. I disagreed with them because I only ever get Techron gas from Chevron so that wasn't the problem. They didn't charge us for the diagnosis but I wasn't going to just pick it up without it being fixed and my husband was sure it needed a valve adjustment. So we took a gamble and had them do it. When we picked it up, it ran perfectly (even with the same tank of "cheap gas"). It's been several months now and it has never turned off on me since! So glad my husband knew what to do and that my car is fixed!

PGM-FI main relay 1 (FI MAIN) is energized whenever the ignition switch is ON (II) to supply battery voltage to the ECM/PCM, power to the injectors, and power for PGM-FI main relay 2 (FUEL PUMP). PGM-FI main relay 2 (FUEL PUMP) is energized to supply power to the fuel pump for 2 seconds when the ignition switch is turned ON (II), and when the engine is cranking or running.
