The door lock/unlock
input from the driver's key switch goes to the Door Multiplex control
unit (main switch), the Door multiplex control unit then sends a signal
on the BUS (CAN) circuit to the passenger's multiplex control unit; the
passenger's multiplex control unit then controls all the door locks. The passenger's door lock key switch inputs to the passenger's multiplex control unit, if the
locks work from the passenger's side key switch but not the driver's
side key switch, the most likely cause is the driver's multiplex
control unit (main switch) not sending the signal to the passenger's
side multiplex control unit. This could also be the drivers side door lock actuator. Hope this helps!
a brake in ur wires in the door,on a 04 grand i had the same problem,in the wire harness were the junction box is rust had broken one of the male prongs
slide the rubber boot up and check the wires in the hinge of the doors. I will bet anything that the wires are broken. that was what was wrong with mine. just splice them back together and everything should work fine.
if you can open the door its the lock actuator from handle to lock that may be off need to pull off the door trim panel /please rrate my response thank you very much
On my jetta, if you don't lock the doors with the remote then all doors lock except the drivers door. try this
1. closing all doors walk around to the passenger door.
2.open the door, using the button on the passenger door, lock the doors.
I had this happen to me on my jetta and found you could lock all the doors if you did'nt use the drivers door or you locked using the remote. They did this to keep the driver from locking the keys in the car. I hope this worked for you
If all the doors do not lock or unlock when using the passenger side switch, then the switch itself is probably bad.
If the passenger side switch locks or unlocks all the other doors except for its own, then the power lock solenoid inside the door is bad or jammed. If it is jammed, try locking and unlocking the door manually while activating the switch to work its way free.
check the wires going from the driver door into the kick panel there should be a rubber thing around the wires and cut it off and the wires usualy break and loose connection
