Humming sound during start-up from Nissan Maxima GLE 199

There is humming sound from the vehicle during engine start. Also, noticed RPM surge during start. I had driven to the fueling area and the car would not start. I had it jumped, put new battery in and the noise is still there. Also the car does not accelerate quickly losing power. Any solution?

Sounds like your alternator is out. Did you do and electrical system check since you replaced the battery?

SOURCE: Tire pressure.

The tire pressures to use are i your user manual that came in the glovebox. If you no longer have this, buy a 20 dollar manual, which I buy for every car I own and it wil tell you.

If you need an answer to get you by, use 35 psi until you find out exactly what it should be. You may even want to stay with this pressure, as most car manuals wil give you temps for winter and summer, and for different driving conditions, when 35 psi will serve you just fine. If you begin to notice your tir wear is not even, take it to a shop and find out what is wrong with it. You will probably need an alignment.

Also many tires wil tell you on the side, the safe tire inflation pressures, but I have found that 35 psi is a good number to run for just about any passenger car.

Primary ignition fault. Reasons: Bad distributor cap (most likely) or ignition control module/ignition coil.
Hope that helps

The "buzzing noise"; I can tell that I am not alone in having this problem but has someone figured out ... I fit does, that eliminates the brake rotors, tires, wheelbearings, CV's etc. ... BUT with an Altima it is probable the pre-cats. Loud humming noise when driving

Why does my 2000 Nissan Quest emits humming sound when engine run

Most likely, that is the sound of the FUEL PUMP. If the car is running well, don't worry about it. Try changing your fuel filter to see if that helps (usually does).
If you have trouble with fuel delivery at high speeds or under load, suspect that your fuel pump is about to fail.

Car surging at idle, and making humming noise.

I can relate my experience with a similar noise on my 1994 car with Traction control. A electric valve in the air intake made a "Hum" or "Buzzing" noise when malfunctioning. For my car, the valve was suppose to reduce engine RPM so the wheel spin was stopped by choking off the air to the engine.
So the electric valve on your engine may be getting a bad signal from the Traction control system especially since you are not applying power. Or simply the electric contacts in the part you mention are worn out and "buzzing" because the contact points are burned out and can not connect.

My abs light is on and there is humming sound coming from the right front side of the engine fire wall. They removed the fuse and humming stopped ,put it back the humming started up again. Leaving the fuse...

unfortunately this website is the pits..I have experienced the same problem with my nissan maxima.ABS..motor running when engine is off. no one seems to know the what to do, or give a definitive answer. My next step is to see is there is a lawsuit pending against nissan on this issue. From my research Nissan Corp is very silent on this issue..I feel if anyone is going to buy a vehicle from nissan or any other japanese car mfg..they have to think three times before they put their loved ones in their vehicles....seems to me they're going the way of the american car mfg companies...put out sorry cars and trucks and rake in the money....so far the south Koreans have out stepped the american and Japanese markets on reliability issues...very good quality vehicles and with a great warranty back up...do the homework...sorry to say our country that started making cars, ended up buying foreign cars that last longer and are more reliable...I am not only disappointed with our car industry....(by the way that needed a buy out) but disgusted with the way they sell their products to the american buyer as if they are sorry for misleading the american public with inferior products....Once we were a good car and truck producing country...now we arent so hot....not sorry about this post, hope someone wakes up in the car industry....otherwise we're gonna be in deep stuff ........thank yu very much. the HOO

My 1995 Nissan Maxima wont start. I smell gas.

Sounds like a bad fuel pump, check if the smell comes under the rear wheels and also check for a loud humming noise when the key is turned to on. Those are signs of a bad fuel pump.
