Horn doesn't work in car but does work with key fob

Trhe horn in my durango doesn't work when pushed on the steering wheel but when I lock the door or hit the panic button on the key fob it works. Could there be a short in the wiring or are they on different circuits and can it be fixed by changing a fuse. Really dont waqnt to spend a lot of money at the dealer getting a simple problem repaired.

Your horn inop problem is in the rotating contact for the horn connection underneath the steering wheel, it is called the clock-spring contact by us techs because that is what it looks like, if you do replace it yourself then you must disarm the airbag or serious injury can result.

08 ford edge, horn does not work at steering wheel, but works when locking car with key fob.

there may be a problem with wiring in steering column? The horn switch on steering wheel and that wiring circuit is ground for control side of horn relay. The horn relay is not serviceable. If the relay was the problem, you could mount external relay. It just depends on the problem? If the horn sounds at all then I don't think the fuse is the problem. good luck

Horn is not working, it works when locking the doors with key fob but not with steering wheel 2008 Dodge Nitro

Circuit for the horn button in the steering wheel goes through the clockspring, which also has wiring for the drivers air bag, cruise control operation (if equipped), and radio controls (if equipped). The clockspring unit can be replaced, but BE SURE to disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for an hour before trying to remove it so you don't inadvertently set off the driver's air bag.

2004 Chevy Tahoe, Horn doesn't work.

The button on you steering wheel is the problem, try to open it up and pull the spring just a little bit. I think you have used it too much ;)

YOU HAVE TO REPLACE WHOLE AIRBAG AND HORN PAD ASSEMBLY BOTH BUILT INTO ONE.

1999 Durango 5.9 horn doesn't work from steering wheel but does when setting the factory car alarm. (I assume it's the same horn.)

If it is the same horn, there is probably something in the area where you push to activate the horn. The horn itself is obviously working so there is no fuse problems, most likely your problem is in the steering wheel.

2001 TA WS6 - Horn and key fob not working

Horn problem is either bad horns or failed clockspring behind steering wheel which is the connection for the airbag and horn buttons.
