Location of the oil pan, 2001 Accent

Embarassed i'm asking what should be a ridiculously simple question...trying to help a friend change the oil. Can't locate where the oil pan underneath the car is. Oh yeah, car has not been driven in over 2 years, and rarely ever started in that period as well. What all do you recommend servicing...and can I do it myself, provided I get a manual of some sort. thanks!!!!

2001 GMC safari engine noise- sounds low, like spun rod bearing. BUT.... seems actually QUIETER under a load. NOISIER at idle. Oil pressure is low at idle. I was trying to do a "relearn...

not a bearing problem as they get noisier under load or rpms , not quieter
oil pressure always drops around 10% of full pressure at idle more if the oil is of low viscosity ( 5w10 or 15) use a mechanic stethoscope to determine noise source at idle

Where is the oil pan and what does it look like? I am trying to instal an oil pan heater.

The bottom most part of the engine is the oil pan. When the oil is changed the drain screw is unscrewed from the oil pan. If you need more help try to google oil pan and see if you can find pictures.
Maybe if you are not a car repair man, you should find a friend or relative to do this.

2001 hyundai transmission seems to buck as if almost staling and slips when excellerating from a stop

YOUR TRANS NEEDS A FILTER AND OIL CHANGE YOU CAN DO IT YOUR SELF JUST BUY A FILTER KIT REMOVE THE PAN AND DROP THE OIL UNDOO THE BOLTS AT THE REAR OF THE PAN AND SLOWLEY MOVE FORWARD THAT WAY THE OIL WILL RUN OUT OF THE BACK OF THE PAN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LARGE FLAT CONTAINER TO CATCH THE OIL
CHANGE THE FILTER AND RE FIT THE PAN YOUR TRANS SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 3.5 L OF OIL
SYNTHETIC TRANS OIL IS MORE EXPENSIVE BUT IT WORKS ALOT BETTER THAN STANDARD OIL

Where is the location of the oil release nut ?

The nut on most vehicles is usually found attached to the oil pan. Once you find the oil pan, the nut should be at the bottom rear or side of the pan. Good Luck!!

I need to change the oil but i dont know where the sump is and i dont have a manual for the car

The sump is inside the oil pan and irrelevant to your need. The oil pan has a drain plug and is at the lowest part, usually on the side, so if you can get under the engine and look up at the usually flat bottom, there will be what may look like a bolt head on the side of the pan at the lower edge. Unscrew that and the oil will come out, so have a pan under it.

Just had oil changed, dipstick reads full, but oil light flickers

the light is probably sending an OIL Pressure drop warning ---there is a rarity however
an oil filter may be improperly installed or the OIL Pressure connection on the oil pressure
sending unit --usually next to the filter --is loose or corroded or the oil pressure sending unit may
be going bad ---on a 2001 it is conceivable
otherwise you have an internal oil pressure leak --crank or cam bearings --bad o ringy thingy somewhere or the oil pump --may be experiencing problem too or the pick up screen in the oil pan
is somwhat clogged ---for a clog --try what's called SEAFOAM in the oil ---the stuff actually works
like it says on the can --about 8 bucks --drive for a week --say 500 miles worth and change the oil filter again --just the filter ---either way OIL Pressure is nothing to ignore ---you need to fix that
asap depending on the problem source!!!
I hope this helps
