I have a 2004 AWD endevor. I was going down the road and then the rpm's started to shoot up along with the speedometer. But I was not accelerating, when I put it in park and made a huge clanking noise. It won't move now, fluids are filled, oil change was recent. My machinic is stumped. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a failed CV joint. Set the brake, chock the wheels and have someone look at the CV shafts while the car is in gear. I bet one of them is rotating because the CV joint is broken. You can get remanufactured, and new CV shafts quite inexpensively.

Sounds Like the Strut needs replaced. Cost $116 to $200 each. The only other thing that would squeak would be the rubber coil spring insulator (might have moved).

Sometimes when starting the rpm revs up to 2000 and then continues to climb rather than come down. Going along the road it seems to run itself...when I take my foot off the gas it maintains speed for quite...

The throttle body can be sticking. Also you could have a broken throttle position sensor. Vacuum leak, near the rear of the intake can cause increased RPM's. Check around under the hood for loose connections, I always start there.

Fule gauge speedometer and rpm gauges stopped

Go to the fuse box and change the fuse for "Gauges". I think this might solve the problem.
