Console removal in a 1990 toyota camry

I had something slide from the middle of the cup holder, the piece that separates the 2 cups into the space behind the cup holder. Im wondering if the console can be removed or any other ways to get behind the cup holder. i took out the cup holder and the ash tray but could not see or reach anything, i even tried to stick something down there but could not feel anything

SOURCE: stick auxiliary box lid

This is a known failure item. Take it to a dealer & have them replace it under warranty. I personally have changed 20 or so. The replacement boxes seem to have been upgraded, and do not display this issue any longer.

nothing is sticking in gears. just have the electricals of the car checked. ask the electrician to chk the wiring and electrical from where the alarm was removed.
my tip: -check whether the speedometer wire is properly placed or not.

Replacing cup holder

I assume you mean the one that flips up in the center console?

If so, there are three likely issues.

1) did you slide out the retainer from the upper screw? the top screw had a cover that had to be pried off. you then took the screw out. Lastly you have to slide out the plastic retainer that the screw went into. It slides out towards the opening.

2) you have to have the cup holder partially open to remove it. the hinged part that folds up is stored in the cavity under the console when closed. you have to open the cup holder and keep pushing until the front of the cup holder lip comes up. Work the cup holder up and down until it comes out.

3) the cup holder is stuck in place due to years of spilled liquid. If you've done the above, then you can either spray soapy water on the creases around the opening and let it set, or you can apply strategic brute force.
Be aware through. if this is the center console cup holder just behind the gear shifter. There are two screws and nothing else to hold it in. Just be carefull....

Retreive card fell into console

On a warm day pull two side pieces off center dash. Remove shifter handle. Pull up on middle where it says PRND You should be able to reach in. If not there are a few screws inside and the cup holder and the middle will come off

A dvd is stuck in my Chrysler town and country multi disk dvd/ cd player. How do I remove it?

Look around the face plate for a very small hole...use a straightened paperclip or equivalent and press in a few inches...its a manuel door release and you should gain access to at least the loading tray.

Replacing cup holder unit on a 1997 toyota 4runner

Despite the other persons advice. on this part you cannot simply yank it out. You must remove the center console (where the stereo is). This is done by removing screws from behind the thin piece of plastic that has your temp controls etc. there may be other screws, but they are easy to find. pull the whole unit forward and then you will have access to the back of the cup holder. there are two "clips" that you can get to. depress them both and the old cup holder will come out. installing the new one may invovled a good shove from the front to engage the new clips. good luck!

Cup holder is stuck down

stick your hands in the cup holder, press against the sidewalls of the cup holder and pull up, there are only 2 metal clips that hold the cup holder assembly in place, it will pop right out, once out check for things obstructing the cup holder lid or broken tracks, a new one is 90-115 bucks or about 20 at a junkyard, just went through this myself
