My used Saturn ion 2003 making loud clicking noise when idling and not accelerating

You buy a 10 year old car that isn't even made anymore
and know it has issues

Do you not have a repair shop you use for many years that has
been around for decades

You need a shop to go thru the entire car & fix ALL problems
regardless of cost, not us guessing at things

Not to get up to speed could be a gas filter ,most likely worn
out & blocked exhaust converter & I could write a book

All it's issues can be diagnosed & you should spend about $1500
if ALL problems are properly tested & resolved

Now you got the entire suspension, all fluids, brakes, tires & on & on

When I buy any vehicle I put it on stands for 3 weeks min & go thru it

On a new car i spend a week a year going thru the entire car

I take brakes apart every year

I check all data every 4 months with professional scan tool software

Real loud knocking noise when i turn or put it in reverse and hard to get it to go past 30 mph

Go with a completely damaged & blocked exhaust converter

Air In --Air Out Yours doesn't go out & the trans gets confused
& can't use the shift strategy it was born with

That is the 30 mph or a gas filter really clogged, not real likely

What is with the noises?

Turning & just sitting still?

What was the trans shop diagnoses, was it test driven
& did you go alone, have to do that

Your car --so your part of the solution,be proactive

2004 town and country whining noise louder when turning the steering wheel

Bad steering rack & or steering pump

Try flushing the fluid, as you should be doing every 3
years on all vehicles

After that-- have to diagnose & start changing parts-- if
you don't like the noise

Just gota new radio installed in my car & the reception isn't that good, where should I go first for answers?

you can try getting a better antenna other than that check the connection on the back of the radio for the antenna, the new radios do not have an adjustable antenna trim like the old ones used to.

you don`t say if this is a 4x4 truck.if it is it could be the Ujoints/halfshaft joints on the side thats making the noise.another thing to have checked is the upper and lower control arm bushings for being worn out causing the noise.just suggestions.

There is a clicking noise coining from my front left wheel of my 2003 ford explorer suv. we just had new front brake pads install. also had new ball joints install on our vehicle. and the clicking noise is...

Before I even read all your question, I thought brake issues,
& still do

I see these questions every day ,just on this site alone,
& get a sick feeling thinking about the millions of people
every day paying repair shops & dealers & leaving there
only to have to go to a web site for help

In 47 years I have never had one issue & very few when I
had my own shop years ago.

There are a few other things that could be ticking/clicking etc
but if it was there before the brake work, why wasn't that
taken care of first

The first rule, is have a shop prove they can find & resolve a
customers problem. Then give them the easy work & stay
loyal to that shop for decades, if they keep preforming as you
expect.

How loud the noise is,wether it does it backing up,you have
drive axles on 4 wheel drive, wheel hub brgs, not easy to find
those noises & honestly I doubt many shops even care to

I used to stay after hours, to just work those type of problems
No real key to it,just have to have to patience & desire to meet
the challange

After changing the ignition coils on my 2001 Jaguar S-Type 4.0 Liter I get mostly static on the AM radio reception.

You didnt put the noise supressor back to it's grounded loacation that it came from. You took it off and didn't even realize it. Back track your steps and you will find it. It's a single black wire with a little square box on it.

Loud clicking noise in 2004 F-150. Will not turn over or start up. Lights, radio, etc still works

Most likely problem is a low battery. Clicking noise is starter trying to engage.
