I,ve got a problem starting my 97 hyundai lantra 5dr sedan. i think it has something to do with the switch on the cluth, car normally won,t start unless clutch fully engaged,. i,ve got a new battery and alternator. no 1- how do you diagnose no 2- how to fix. any ideas greatly appreciated.gavin n.b i have put elantra because lantra was,nt a choice , but it is a lantra

Try pushing the clutch to the floor with you toes if it starts and won't unless you push to the floor its the clutch start switch 22 bucks at auto zone i will be gettng help installing the new one i will let you know.

If the replacement thermostat is good, and installed properly, then the temp sensor might be bad. I hate to tell you ($$$$$) but waterpump could be bad (more expensive)

Hi the trans range switch or some times called an inhibitor switch needs replaced and have the bands adjusted for the transmission which is an external bolt with jamb nuts near the range switch after that has been performed the battery cable removed for 10 minutes to reset all adaptive learn for transmission
