Dome Lights I have owned a 2007 GMC Yukon for about a month. All of a sudden 2 days ago the light that illuminates the mileage and the gear your in went out and today i dropped my child off at day care when i came back out to the car all my dome lights were stuck on. i tried over riding and i opened and closed all the doors. the tailgate glass was open but it did not shut off the lights when closed. The stupid lights stayed on while i drove to work and after i parked and locked my car. i doubt the 2 issues are related but do you have suggestions for both?

THERE IS A INTERGRAL MICROSWITCH INSTALLED IN THE LF DOOR LATCH- DOOR SIDE. THIS PART IS NOT SOLD SEPARATLY, THE SWITCH WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. MAKE SURE THERE IS A POWER & GROUND AT THE SWITCH 1ST. IF NOT THEN THERE IS A PLOBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE SWITCH..

Use a small thin blade screwdriver. Gently pry off where the small slots are located.

it is by the light switch .push it in and then turn off the lights

Could be the latch mechanism for the door is sticking. You could try using some white grease on the latch and the contact where the latch hooks to. You can purchase the grease from most auto parts stores. You will not need to use alot. Just apply a small amount to the mechanisim and then work it in using the manual handle. Then open and close the door several times to feel the "action". Then apply a little more and repeat. This should loosen the latch and get it working again. Also make sure that none of the tension springs have come loose on the latch. And check the seal around the door and make sure it is not pinched and has a proper fit.
