Where are the coil injectors located in the engine

I would like a diagram or something showing where each coil injector is located with its correct number. There are 6 coil injectors and need to know where they are located in the engine.

The fuel injectors are under the air intake plenum on the fuel rail. I do not intend to be mean, but if you do not know enough about an engine to know where the fuel injectors are located, you probably should not attempt to mess with them.

hey thanks for bringing me up to speed. ive been working on many other problems but with your great explanation i remember.
we need to check the compression on that cyl. and compare it to the compression on 2 other cylinders your choice.
but before you do this get a can of carb cleaner . and with the car idling spray around the intake manifold in the area of #6 cyl. what we are looking for is a small vacuum leak that would also act like this. with the engine idling and spraying around the intake the engines idle sould not change and if it does when you spray you have an intake leaking.
let me know how it turns out.

SOURCE: number 6 cylinder miss fire i replaced the injector repaced coil

The wire to plug number six is bad, allowing a spark to ground, or the plug itself is cracked, allowing the same thing. You may be able to see the sparking if you look at the wire/plug at night, in complete darkness as possible.

Or try buying a new wire set and replacing that one wire. You can return them if it doesn't do the trick.

if you have a cylinder 4 miss fire it is more likely to be the coil and not the injector. I have replaced a ton of coils on these for miss fires but don't think I've done an injector for this problem yet.

SOURCE: misfire on number 6 cylinder have replaced

If you changed and the injector and the coil and does not work change the spark that cylinder and see if comes to that coil voltage (positive and negative) and is less negative than if the PCM does not work that coil. Thanks good luck and opinions please

Wiring diagram for 2004 dodge durango 5.7

5.7L
no code told, why skip the most important fact?
P03xx (what is the XX)

code 300 is means all cylinders misfire,
301,to 308
my wild wild guess is P030x code
this misfire, means, this. in TRUTH
that cylinder has bad combustion. (means weak only or dead)
caused by 3 things.
1: bad spark plug. or wires to it. or cop coil if is.
2: bad injector.
3: bad compression this cylinder or water or oil landing here.
3b: bad cam lob on X
3c bad piston on X cracked,.
3d, valves burned, X
and more, even cracks in X. all things inside X

the service manual is online
https://eautorepair.net/Marketing/Default.asp

the injectors all have a 12vdc power rail to a fuse. 5.7L/4.7
as do all 8 COP coils. (i bet one is bad or just boots to it bad))
all 8 injectors use that one 12vcd fused feed line
these are called PnP injectors. 12v, 0v, 12v, 0= fire.
the coil on X unstated injector is about 12 OHMs , no not zero nor infinity a super basic test that
moving the injector if bad, (side swaps) the TDC error moves with it.one more basic test.
a simple NOID lamp test shows if the PCM is firing it.
here is the schematic in part.

57-undefined-undefined-0_0.jpg now all tests a short list
All fuses good , not guessing testing./
spark plug good on X
spark COP boot replaced, $15 cost, cheap on X
compression on X passes
spark tip not soaked in OIL or ANTIFREEZE on X
Injector ohms out good and NOID lamp passes on X

the injector and COps run off fuse #10- 30amps.
if blown the ASD relay is dead, so fuse 10 is not dead
because ASD is closed now and engine runs. (no stated be inferred)

bad engine, bad spark or bad injector, on cylinder X
X not told.
there are other possibles. like cylinder X has a vacuum leak
in Intake X port, gasket cracked, lean burn misfire.
leaking injector
we do the FSM (SM) book injector leakdown test and balance test to find that.
and more. ask for more tell what X is?

1g fe engine diagram

The injectors have a 'O" ring around the tip to seal off the nozzle and if the injector is loose or the "O ring is old it will leak.; Replace the "o" ring and tension the injector correctly. Do them all as if one is leaking the rest will not be too far behind.

2001 accord 3.0 l engine. Have misfire codes 302 and 305 only. Swapped plugs, coils. Does not change misfire location .Compression ok.Any easy way to check injectors? Read somewhere possibly need...

You can check the injector pulse supplied by the computer (PCM) with a tool called a NOID light, it blinks when the injector is fired, it plugs into the injector harness, make sure you get the correct one as not all Japanese cars use the standard bosh injector connector. Go to this link for more info on the tool.

93 nissan pick uptruck just quit running no sparkk put new cap rotor and power transister on still no spark, tried portable diagnostic and self

Go to Autozone.com and register your vehicle and get a free wiring diagram and powerbox layout. Although it sounds like you have some info.

Sounds like something dependent on the injector circuit is smoked. A bad relay, a bad fuelpump, find out which connects through the injector loop that is not connected when the injectors are out. You should be able to trace it back.

I mentioned the fuelpump because it coasts until the injectors dump fuel into the engine and runs only shortly until the pressure regulator signals a need to kick in again. Perhaps a fuel pressure regulator?

Would be interested in what you find.

Do you know how to test electrical circuit's with a volt meter ? Power an grounds and control for the coil #3 cylinder ,plus fuel injector ? If you don't know how to do automotive electrical circuit testing ,your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop. The coil is computer controlled , pull it an see if you see or hear it sparking . Is the fuel injector firing. ? Videos on youtube showing how to test. Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Free one's here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year ,make , model and engine . Under system click on engine then under subsystem click on fuel controls . Click the search button then the blue link. Scroll down to diagram # 6 . Coil circuits . Pink with black trace - B+ voltage , black is ground , brown is signal ground in the PCM - computer . orange with white trace is coil trigger signal from the PCM . Diagram #9 is fuel injector electrical circuits . Test power and grounds . You probably have a bad coil or injector ,wiring issue , or a bad driver inside the PCM . If the PCM needs to be replaced it will need programming , dealer only .

Where is fuel injector # 4 location on my 96 maxima

Fuel injector #4 is for engine cylinder #4, below is a diagram of the engine cylinder layout. So #4 is the center engine cylinder in the front bank of cylinders, the front bank is the 3 ( cylinders 2,4,6) engine cylinders closest to the radiator.

The ECM on this car will shut down the injector driver circuit if one of the six injectors has a coil out of tolerance. (Shorted coil or resistance out of parameters) Quick check. Unplug two wire cap to injector one at a time. (hold/push wire clip inwards then gently wiggle/lift cap off---careful with wires) With one unplugged try starting. If no start- plug back and use same procedure on next injector and so on.........In most cases if bad injector coil the engine will start when it is located. Replace injector. Some say the ECM shuts dirver circuit down to prevent further damage to switching circuit.
