Buick LeSabre traction control off comes on during driving and only resets once car is turned off

Over the last week the "traction control off" has been happening more frequently and the only way to resume traction control is to turn the car off and restart car. Prior to this past week, this would happen occassionally and once I turned the car off and restarted it did not occur for a while. Any ideas on what's happening?

you will have to have the codes checked it is most likely one of the wheel speed sensors after its fixed and the codes cleared the light should go off

SOURCE: REPLACEMENT OF [LOW BEAM] HALOGEN BULB IN 2004 Buick LeSabre

I just Replaced a Low Beam Light bulb on a 2005 Buick La Sabre.

If You use a Metric socket and Remove the Two Silver bolts Attaching the headlight Assemble onto the metal surrounding the the lamp assembly it comes out to the front. This makes it much easier to access the bulb. Twist it counerclockwise & it comes out by pulling gently on the bulb. Then by realeasing a tab that is the socket holder bulb can be removed & replaced with a New #9006 low beam halogen light bulb. Wrap a Paper towel around the bulb & do NOT touch it with your bare hand as this wiil ruin a halogen bulb,

SOURCE: abs & traction light on 1997 buick lesabre

This is a fairly common problem, Gm has actually issued a service bulletin regarding this repair. The problem probably originates from one of your wheel speed sensors that is mounted inside one of your front wheel bearings. To be sure, you need to have the car scanned to find out which one and then you have to replace the whole bearing assembly because the sensor is integral to the bearing. The bearing is not hard to do but you will need some professional tools if you want to do it yourself. At a shop it should cost between 3 and 400 dollars complete.

SOURCE: Dash lights and headlights are flicker on my 2000

Traction light is on because the abs is on.Traction control needs to have the abs system fully functioning to work. Most common cause of abs light is a wheel speed sensor. As for your lights flickering the alternator may be going out or you have a poor ground connection.Would check battery cables first to make sure they are tight.

The traction control system has detected a fault and turned itself off. The system uses sensors at the drive wheels to detect slippage and lock the differential and provide extra traction for acceleration. While the fault light is on, the system is not ready to provide this capability.
The ABS system uses many of the same components to keep the wheels from slipping while braking, and faults often cause both systems to quit.
There are a few things the average person can check for and possible repair, but much of these systems require specialized diagnostics to repair.

sounds like a battery ground, check chassis ground strap coming from - batt terminal to the body. Also the one bellhousing bolt in front of engine down by the starter has ground for sensors.
Check there ,make sure it's tight.
