2001 Pontiac Grand Am the engine turns over good it fires and acts like it wants to start but wont run there is fuel presure at the fuel rail and thot maybey it got flooded but I pulled the fuel pump relay out and turned it over holding the throtle wide open to clear the gas out but that made no difference
SOURCE: fuel rail presure on a 2001 trailblazer
If it's CPI it should be about 58-62 to thereabouts. Much lower than that she aint gonna start. TBI, however is in the low teens and I don't think has as many no start isues.

its not flooded I know that but I also just remembered it has remote start on it and that has not worked for over a year now
Does it have spark
I know there is a disable switch for the remote start when the hood is open but I think if that was the problem the starter wouldnt turn the engine
I am going to check to see if there is spark but I think there is because it trys to fire and almost start and also check the fuel filter but the car was running fine when parked on last thursday its my daughters car and she lives 30 miles from me
I found the problem it was the security the last time it was security all I had to do was remove the key and lock the doors then use the key (not the remote) to unlock the door and put the key in the ignition and it started this time I had to leave the igniton on untill the security light quit blinking (10 to 15 minutes) then remove the key and put it back in the ignition and it started
Great you got it done now write down what you did so anyone in the family that has this problem later will know
my security lightdoes not blink
