Hi,

The first place to start is the Ford 2001 Owner's Manual.

You can get a .pdf version of the 2001 Ford Taurus Owner's Manual at: http://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&year=2001&make=Ford&model=Taurus

It has instructions and guides for finding and replacing the fuses in a 2001 Ford Taurus. It starts on page 146-147.

Always use the specific Owner's Manual for the correct Model Year of a Ford or Mercury vehicle. I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Taurus, and had thought that I could use the Owner's Manual from a 1999 Mercury Sable from a friend. BUT, I figured out that each model year can be very different (before any serious damage happened.)

Good luck,

JB

Check for the fuse and relay diagrams in the owners manual in the glove
box.If you don't have it,I'd suggest picking up a Chilton's Manual,at any
parts store. Good luck.

Losing power in 2001 taurus

Pull all of your fuses, disconnect the Positive lead from the Battery and use a Multi Meter between the cable and battery post. with the ignition on off. Check the voltage, now replace the fuses one at a time and watch for a change in voltage. The fuse that causes a change will be the one that goes to what is draining your battery.

Intermittent fuel pump engagement when turning key - 2001 Taurus

try cleaning the connector that goes to the fuel pump, sometimes they corrode on inside. If that does not fix, test the wires feeding fuel pump with a multi meter until the condition shows itself again, if voltage drops to zero or very low then wiring problem, if voltage is unchanged with problem and fuel pump is not working and connectors are all clean, try replacement of fuel pump.

Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus

The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.
