I have a 1998 buick regal ls with a 3.8l v-6 (only 100000 mil) does anybody know if there is any transmission shifting problems? on take off the rpm rev high and there is slow take off and when you get going and step down on the gas the rpm's jump up again like the car is inneutrall. the fluid is full but no service light on. help. thanks everyone

if you look on the top of your supercharger, you will see it. u have to get it out with a hex screwdriver

This is a common problem on some GM cars. There is a pressure control valve in the side cover of the transmission that needs to be replaced. The transmission does not have to be rebuilt. You will need to get a side cover gasket also.

I found the problem. It was the crank position sensor. There was also a cracked vacuum hose connecting to the diaphragm on the fuel rail. Replaced both and my 92 Buick no longer dies. For the guy who's Buick was dying when using the turn signals - replace the crank position sensor. One of my symptoms of my Buick dying was when I used my turn signals. Use of turn signals places a varying load on the electrical system which messes up the crank posistion sensor if it is going bad.
