15 amp fuse, OK Try repositioning using display switch. Neither up or down brings HUD into view. Depressing and holding Dimmer Switch will display, "HUD Dim." Dimmer switch has no affect on other pannel lights. Turn off inigition/start again has no affect.

SOURCE: High beam dimmer switch on a 1989 Cadillac Seville

The dimmer switch operates an actuator that pushes on a rod and then that rod goes down the steering column and pushes on the actual dimmer switch which is near the bottom of the steering column, u will need to remove the trim under the steering column and then the must remove the 2 nuts that hold the column to the bottom of dash, carefully lay the column on the seat and then u will have access to the dimmer switch, actuate the switch and see if the rod moves, if it doesn't then u must replace the dimmer switch rod actuator plastic piece at the top of the column, if it does move up and down either the dimmer switch has come loose or the dimmer switch is defective.

Hello, from the description that you have given I think you may be right, I think that the switch has passed its use by date. However have it checked by an auto electrician to confirm this before spending to much money. Best of luck with it, hope this helps.

Cadillac SRX 2014 how to fix heads up display Blurring

Hey Laurie,
There is several things that might cause the distortion, polarized sunglasses, a non-hun windshield, the HUD lens is dirty, plastic coating on your glasses, the HUD is distorted if you are tall. if you wear bifocals , the HUD might to fall into the progressive range and isn't quite in focus. possibly the HUD is in focus with your left eye but not your right eye???
Just a few things that you might "look at"... :)

2004 grand prix hud adjustment doesn't move up or down.

The Heads Up Display (HUD) usually fails because of a spring that holds the mirror assembly comes unhooked or pulls through the plastic anchor hole. The HUD unit needs to be removed out of the dash for repair. Several people have epoxied a washer where the original hole was located with very good results. Takes between 2 to 3 hours to repair. Repair instructions can be found on several automotive forums.

HUD will not light up

If you peek down inside the windshield, you'll probably see the HUD is working. A common issue is that the adjustment spring will break, making the HUD invisible because it is adjusted out of range. The spring can be replaced by removing the cluster then the HUD unit.
