How do i change the front wheel bearrings on a 1999 sonoma 2 wheel drive?

  • Nick Tumolo Dec 27, 2011

Yes as, ase_master327 said, it is a Wheel Bearing Hub assembly. But I believe his directions are for a 4x4. On the 2wd it is easier in my opinion. Pretty much what he wrote except the axle nut and cotter pin deal. It should be 3 or 4 bolts holding on the hub. Loosen front lugs, jack up the car, remember jack stands!! Remove rims, calipers, rotors, abs sensor, and then the Hub. Shouldn't be too hard. Install the new hubs as you removed them. Hope this helps and good luck. Sorry I took so long to reply haven't been on this site in a while.

Leaks gear 90 oil by the throw out bearing on my 1999 ford f350 2 wheel drive dually diesel

The only gear oil near the throw-out bearing would be in the transmission and the only way to the throw-out bearing is out the transmission front bearing retainer. I would check the vent first. It's on the transmission top. If that's free you'll have to remove the transmission and front bearing retainer to check the front bearing and seal.

How difficult to change the link bolt on the front right stabilizer bar? 96 sonoma 2 wheel drive.

It's really just grunt work, you need 1/2 inch drive sockets and a braker bar or a big rachet, and a 4 lb. sledge hammer makes it much easier.

How to remove front rotors on a 1999 Sonoma 2 wheel drive

these are whats called fixed rotors. once the wheel and brake caliper have been removed, the dust cap needs to be removed, the cotter pin, the the washer, and with a pair of channel lock pliers, you can remove the nut which holds the bearings in place. you have one more washer and the front bearing which will come out as soon as you start pulling the rotor towards you. make sure you keep the bearings clean and it is a good idea to repack them. to reinstall reverse procedure(obviously) but when you go to put the nut back on you can tighten it down snug with the pliers, rotate the wheel a couple of times and unsnug the nut and retighten the nut til there is resistance and then 1/4 turn. be safe.

How do I remove my front rotors from a 96 Sonoma

First remove calipers. Support with wires to prevent strain on brake hose. Look for keeper screw on rotor. Rotor should release but may be stuck due to corrosion. Warning brakes require extreme caution due to safety.

1999 GMC sonoma starte installation

2.2L Engine remove protective shields as needed then remove front exhaust pipe. Remove the brace from the engine to the clutch housing, then disconnect starter wiring. 4.3L Engine 2 wheel drive just remove the right front tire and you will have access to the wiring. 4.3L Engine 4 wheel drive you must remove the differential carrier shield if equipped then remove the starter bolts and rotate the starter to get access to the wiring. Good Luck.
