Hello,
I have a 99 ford escort and while going around a corner or slamming on the breaks on the freeway it pops out of drive into neutral. Then I have to put it in park or find another gear really quick.
I took it into the shop and they pulled the code PO734. They couldn't fix it there and there really are no transmissions shops where I live.
Does anybody have any ideas on what is going on and what I can possibly do myself?

Hi i have the fault code here and it says gear 4 incorrect ratio.wiring fault,transmission switch,shift solenoids or mechanical faults in the gear box.hope this helps ,best of luck.
