so is not ONE ANSWER EVER

Drive it to the parts house and have them check how many amps the starter is pulling. Recheck the cable connections and new batteries.

That's a service manual problem and only can get from a repair shop, if you have a connection, or the dealership.

The diverter doors on the HVAC system are run by vacuum. Do you hear a hissing noise when you select defrost ?
Either a vacuum line has come off, leaking, or the door is malfunctioning.
To find out you have to go down under your dash, and start looking for obvious, hoses, wire off, ect.
Digging into the HVAC system is a lot of work. You may want to consider taking it in to a reliable auto center.
