Check fuse # 8 -20 amp and look for the starter relay. The fuses and relays are in a black box under the hood near battery. The lid of the box will tell you every fuse and relay. There should be a spare fuse in the box or take one from another circuit and try to start the carcar wont start totally dead lights and power work - 0996b43f8022dd2d.gif

Wont start

If it's making clicking noise then that sounds and means that it's the starter... Nothing else makes it click when turning the key, then the starter... If it was the Alternator it wouldn't hold the charge... You could try with jumper cables to turn it on then removing the negative terminal from the battery... If it turns off then it's the Alternator... Those are two possible solutions... Keep with the updates.

Turn key wont crank

Possible issues: too many to list

Do you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key to "START"? If so, I'd say your battery is dead.

Do any of your gauge lights, head lights, radio, etc. work just fine? If so, I'd guess you have a bad ignition, bad coil, or bad starter.

Likely issues:
Dead battery
Bad coil
Bad ignition switch
Bad starter

2006 chevy cobalt LS with the 2.2L.. Never had issue starting in the past. I came home on lunch, went to go back to work and when I turned the key I heard a loud "CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK" for so...

Sounds like you have a battery issue but could be the alternator wasnt charging it also last u drove and ran the battery down the best way to go is remove the battery from your trunk and take it into either a parts store or battery store and have them test it may take a while as they may have to charge it first to get a valid test so plan on dropping it off early in the day and returning a couple hours later if the battery tests ok after a full charge then reinstall it and should start with a full charge and then return to either your parts or battery store and they should be able to do a on car alternator test

2001 Chevy Impala won't start

If the battery has gone dead, it could cause the security system to go into full lock-up mode. If it has locked up the accessories will work after the battery is charged back up , but the power to the starter will be cut off and it wont turn over. You need to do the 30 minute learn procedure. A GM dealer will print it out for you and you can do it yourself. It's very simple if you follow the procedure exact. hope this helps and good luck.

Mini van wont start

Sounds like starter selanoid, but first make sure battery connections are clean and tight, if sure they are then turn on headlights and try to start if still clicks and lights dim its starter.
