My 2005 Civic Hybrid has the same codes. The check engine and IMA lights are on, but the car is running OK.
Did you get your problem figured out? If so, can you tell me what you did?
TAKE IT TO A DEALER, RECENT SERVICE NEWS, HONDA WANTS TO LOOK AT YOUR HYBRID
I have a honda civic hybrid 05 VIN: JHMES96605S024356. I had my engine light on as well as my IMA battery. I went to check it, got a p1433 and p1600 code that one of MIDAS mechanics told me to go to the dealer as it s a recall..Can you help me out? I don't have warranty! I bought it a year ago...Is there some kind of recall regarding this? Do I bring it to the dealer and they will fix it for free.
I am not planning to spend 4,000$ to get a new IMA battery!
Hi, you can find this battery on craigslist, for cheap price , or call any junk yard,

It turned out to be a failed IMA battery. Honda covered it under warranty, even though the car has a salvaged title, because it is part of the emissions system. A $3000 repair otherwise!

IMA battery failure was the problem.
My $3000 IMA battery was bad, Even though I had a salvaged title, they replaced it for free because rhe car had less that 70k miles on it and the battery is considered part of the emissions system. The dealer refused to do it for free, so I had to call the corporate office and they straightened it out.
Good luck and let me know if I can help.

Battery pack has failed again. Unlike later model years the car runs fine. In California we have to pass smog every two years and you automatically fail if your Check Engine light is on. We now have a local shop that repairs the packs - for $1500! Anyone know a way around this? It just seems wrong. My car would otherwise pass smog easily!
I have 2003 honda civic hybrid my car has this cod p1600
