First, you have to determine if it is gas or spark related that it wont start. You can determine this with easy tests when it refuses to start.
For a gas test, buy a small can of starting fluid or carburetor cleaner-either will work. Take off the big rubber boot between the air filter and the throttle body-spray a couple of squirts of fluid into the engine, then quickly try to start it. If the fluid makes the engine actually fire and try to run, then you know you have a gas problem. Maybe a weak fuel pump that won't build good pressure. Checking the fuel pressure is actually the next step if you had a gas problem.
If the gas test didn't make the engine try to run, then you would want to test the ignition system by checking for spark. So if it won't start, pull off a spark plug wire from one of the spark plugs. You ever done this before? If not, have someone do it for you , so you wont get a fairly mild, but nevertheless startling shock from the coils. There are spark testers very cheap at auto parts stores, which eliminate the chance of getting a shock. When you test for spark, you are checking the ignition system, you already put new coils in, that is part of the system, but there is more. If you have no spark, next is to see if the coil controls are working -the Ignition Control Module (ICM) is that controller, and it gets a signal from the engine computer, for when to control the coils for spark..

SOURCE: When I fill my gas tank on my 2000 Dodge intrepid,

HI, the fuel gauge sending unit is malfunctioning. this is located inside the fuel tank and, it is part of the fuel pump assembly. replacing this failing component will fix this issue.

I left my 1996 gmc seirra 1500 sit real low on gas,And now sometimes it will start and sometimes it will not, when it does it cranks for a while now it wont start it acts like it is starving for gas when it...

I don't know how long you let it sit or what climate you are located in so.... From what you said I would guess you have had water condensation in the tank. I would change the fuel filter, fill the tank with fresh fuel and add a container of "water remover" to the tank. If water is the problem this will allow the water to be mixed with the fuel in a very small percentage and burn it along with the fuel. Full or almost full tanks do not condense water. Empty or almost empty tanks do when allowed to sit for a while.

I ran out of gas and now it wont start its turning over though

It is still quite possible that after numerous attempts to pump fuel up to the injectors it may not start. I am assuming there is no problem with the fuel pump and you can hear it operating when the ignition is turned on.

If the vehicle still will not start, it is possible that debris in the fuel tank has been picked up when the gas was very low and has caused a blockage in the supply system. The likely place to begin is the fuel filter. Have the filter replaced. You should also check the fuel line the other side of the fuel pump to ensure that fuel is passing through the pump towards the engine. When disconnecting the fuel line, fuel should flow out.

When you get the car started ensure you buy a bottle of fuel injector cleaner (reputable brand) and add it to a full tank of fuel during filling. Tip in the injector cleaner and then top up the fuel tank to full or near full. This should be done a couple of times a year in any event.

My car turns over but wont start

you most likely need a new fuel filter, a new gas cap, a new radiator cap, and carbeurator cleaner added to your fuel tank for the next four tank fulls.

Wont turn over......it tries but just keeps acts like it has no gas

maybe a clogged fuel filter. or bad fuel pump...before you turn your engine to full start click it just before start and you should hear a small noise from under you fuel tank,,,,,if you here this then the pump is probably working.

Car wont start! has full tank of gas, battery is fine!

Ensure that your fuel pump is okay. You might need to make a change on that cos that will definately be the cause.

!996 Intrepid has fuel smell after filling up and stalls intermittently

I just emailed this to someone else, it might be your problem. Also, what I didn't mention to this guy, is the recall also states that a fuel line somewhere up there can crack too. Look it up to see exactly what I'm trying to say, just get on google and it will pop up.

A factory recall put out in AUG 98. The seals on the fuel lines up on the top of the motor wear out and when the engine is hot they expand and then leak fuel when the engine starts to cool off, you don't get the correct fuel pressure to the injectors, and you have to flood it to get it to start or let it sit longer. Just go down to your local Dodge dealership and they will fix it for free, I'm getting mine done Monday, my car is a 95 with 166k, and it won't cost me anything. Google recalls on 96 dodge intrepids with the 3.5 L if you don't believe me.
