Trying to locate the color codes for the iat sensor
We're do my mas sensor wires run to from the sensor back
Vehicles: all computer-controlled internal compustions engines equipped with an IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
Operation - IAT
This sensor is a resistor based sensor which detects the intake air temperature. According to the intake air temperature reading the ECM/PCM will control the necessary amount of fuel injection.
ECM = Engine Control Module (aka "the car's computer")
PCM = Powertrain Control Module (aka "the car's computer")
The IAT is wired to the Light Blue & Tan wires on terminals "D" and "E".
The MAF sensor occupies termials "A", "B" and "C".
Terminal A = YE (Yellow)
Terminal B = BK/WH (Black with White stripe)
Terminal C = PK/BK (Pink with Black stripe)
Terminal D = TN (Tan)
Terminal E = L-BU (Light Blue)
Terminal A (YE) goes thru C6 (Connector 6) to ECM pin 16
Terminal B (BK/WH) goes to GND (Ground)
Terminal C (PK/BK) goes to Underhood Fuse Block fuse labeled "EXH" then to PWR/TRN Relay. This relay is also in the Underhood Fuse Block.
Terminal D (TN) goes thru C6 (Connector 6), where its connected to a BLACK wire on the other side of C6, which goes to ECM pin 22.
Terminal E (L-BU) goes thru C6 (Connector 6), where its connected to another Light Blue wire on the other side of C6, which then goes to ECM pin 50.
ECM = Engine Control Module (aka "the car's computer")
Oops
All the Wire colors are correct, but I got the connector numbers wrong - which may not matter to you today, but I don't want to post something wrong - its posted forever.
Terminal A (YE) goes to connector 8. (not C6)
Terminal B (BK/WH) goes to GND.
Terminal C (PK/BK) goes to the Underhood Fuse Block.
Terminal D (TN) goes to connector 8. (not C6)
Terminal E (L-BU) goes to connector 7. (not C6)
Thats the way i figured it .but the instruction told me to find the 2 wires that checked together should read.between 1 and 3 k ohms , which turned out to be yel and black.
And connected should read between 2 and four volts. WHY CANT THEY JUST TELL YOU.
I bought a G force chip to try . Dont know it its worth a ****

What make/model/year/engine type is your car/truck/boat/airplane?
2010 HHR chevy 4 cyl
You've done a good job identifying your Chevy HHR, but Chevrolet made SO MANY 4-cylinder HHRs in 2010, you may have to check your car's VIN 8th digit.
The VIN 8th digit will be "B", "M", or "V" (for the 3 different HHR engines) as shown in the tables below.
2010 Chevy HHR 4-cylinder models:
(1) HHR LS
(2) HHR LS Panel
(3) HHR LT
(4) HHR LT Panel
(5) HHR SS
