Cab mount bushings are a royal pain. From experience ypu may as well get new bolts and some nuts to fit while you are ordering the bushings. Also get new plates that mount against the bushings. It's not very common for any of these parts to be reusable. The front mount bolts may come out with a socket and strong arm but make sure you are using a 1/2" drive socket not the common 3/8. I believe the socket is 19mm. If the bolts break or won't unscrew you will have to cut a hole in the floor to get at the welded nut. There are 2 layers in the floor where the cab mounts are located. Measure from 2 access points to get an approximate location for the hole.

You can almost guarantee that you will have to cut holes in the floor to get the rear ones out. You will also have to remove the seat to get enough room to work on them.

Once you have to old ones out a small hydraulic jack and a block of wood will lift the cab enough to take the old mount out and install the new one. Use the block to support the cab when you jack so you don't dent the floor. Do them in pairs so the cab doesn't end up crooked on the frame. You can expect this to be an all day job. Hope this helps.

How to change cab mount bushings

Remove Cab bolts and lift body with lift. If lift is not accessible then remove mount bolts on one side and jack with block of wood to reduce body damage possiblity (Use body line). Jack body just high enough to remove bushing. Use caution watch hands and avoid pinch points whenever possible.

Front end bushings what are they how are they

Well there are stabilizer bar bushings, control arm bushings and strut mount bushings. The stabilizer bushings are usally bolted around the the stabilizer bar and attach to the frame. The control arm bushings are usally pressed into the control arms. The strut mount bushings are on top of the struts. Normally they are replaced as needed. The strut mount bushings are good to do when replacing the struts.

Front sway bar link kit, what is the order of installation. all my bushings are rotted away.

Remove the sway bar links from lower control arms. Replace the sway bar mount to frame bushings first. Then install sway bar link bushings. Note how they come apart and install in the same manner.

Knocking coming from under the extended cab from

There called torsion bar mount bushings, and will cost about $34.00 for both of them. Parts Source.

Jack up RH side of truck, crawl under LH side
  • 1 Remove nut from torsion bar mount stud that secures the mount to the cross-member. You'll have to feel for it, you won't be able to see it from below.
  • 2 Remove bottom two bolts. Easy, they're in plain view from below. Now the mount is free.
  • 3 Push up on cross member, remove old mount.
  • 4 Insert new mount - push up on cross member, slip mount in between frame and cross member. Drop hole in cross member over the stud.
  • 5 Loose assemble nut and two bolts. Torque down once other side is done.
Now over to the passenger side
  • 6 Jack up driver side of truck
  • 7 Repeat steps 1 and 2
  • 8 To get the mount out, try pushing up on the cross member, just like the driver side. If it comes out, great. I couldn't get the cross member up high enough on mine. I used a big screwdriver and ripped it out by separating the rubber from the metal plate. It came out in pieces.
  • 9 Install new mount. If you didn't have trouble getting the old one out, you probably won't have a problem getting the new one in. As I said, I did. I couldn't raise the cross member high enough to slip it in. Solution: whack 3/8" off the stud. You'll still have plenty left for the nut.
  • 10 Reinstall nut & bolts, torque down.
  • 11 Remove jack, Torque down drives side.
Good luck. The TRW's are one-piece urethane, (I think) and came with a lifetime guarantee. They'll probably outlast the vehicle.

Rotton body mounts

Are you taking about the rubber mount bushings? You can get replacements at your local Dodge dealer, or you could opt for a 2" body lift which comes with new mounts.
