the code tells you that the battery in your frob has gone bad, try to put a new battery in it and it should work

I have a 96 Impala SS I'm ready to smog but DTC code P1642 which is fan relay I replace it after three days the relay blow out and engine came on,the passenger fan is working but the driver fan is blowing out.

sorry but none of these codes appear in teh jaguar code list but in the generic code list which i have just checked they dont exist either so contact the code reader manufacturer

DTC P1642 is for a loss in CAN communication. You will need to read the codes from the other modules to see which one is the culprit. From your description is does sound like the CAN network went down. It may be a problem with the inertia switch. It may have partially tripped causing this problem.

See your owner manual for the location of your inertia fuel cutoff switch. It cuts off power to the fuel pump in an accident.

CAN is the communication network where all teh computers in your car talk to one another. There appears to be a problem intermittently here.

ok here we go p111= IAT circuit range problem po171 bank 1 lean po174= bank 2 lean The other codes p1637 and p1642 have to do with the CAN system (Controled Area Network) could have to do with the type of scan tool used.Sounds like you might have a vacuum leak. Make sure when you scan this car you use a scanner capable of communicating with a European CAN. if you need more help get back to me. Hope this helps Thanks Ray

Gearbox is a sealed unit now, from the factory, so no topping up possible.

Sounds like major problem in transmission.
