The 171 is an oxygen sensor code, you can look up

That alone is not the reason for stalling or idle issues

It is located near the fuel tank on a tray under the car.

Have 2000 Buick Lesabre custom every time car gets up to operating temp. the engine misses going down the road , also let car sit and idle and it shuts off after about 2 minutes , my code reads PO171 system to lean bank 1, changed co2 censor, mass air flow censor, plug wires, and plugs.

could be the althenator going bad

You need to get the computer scanned to see what the "trouble code" is. The light is on because the computer found an error.

Hi when the ABS and TRACTION light come on there is a FAULT CODE STORED in the EBCM
