1997 Subaru Legacy LSi cruise control only works when headlights off

Troubleshooting 101 - Rule #1: Check your fuses.

I have a problem in the cruise sometimes works and sometimes when the logo appears cruise on the screen, it does not work.

I just fixed this problem on my 95 legacy wagon. I did evreything needed to replace the headlight switch. My switch has 2 pieces I seperated both pieces and cleaned the contact in between both pieces. that's all I did, no money for part's!

Yes. 1995 and 1996 2.2l engines should be interchangeable.

Check that the cruise control module fuses are not blown in the fuse panel. Also make sure your stop lights are working; cruise controls are designed to disengage when the brakes are applied, and one method of sensing that is to monitor brake light current.


then reset your four wheel drive again

The cruise control light blinks when there is a problem with it.

From the under the hood. There are some bolts there. Just did it 2 weeks ago.

It has to be jerked just right for them to lock. Foreign cars are real touch when you **** them. American cars pretty much only lock up when you stop quickly and your whole body puts pressure on the belt.

simple test light to the stop light switch mounted just above the brake pedal. power in one side push down on the pedal and power should come out the other wire.

have you checked the fuel filter or fuel pump? possibly the crankshaft sensor?
