How do I replace the air bag impact sensor on the driver's side of my 1995 GMC Sierra 1500?

The ears through which the sensor is bolted to the frame have rusted off and the sensor is just hanging there, although it seems to still be functioning. Also, I am having great difficulty finding the part since it apparently is no longer made. Any suggestions on where I can find the part. Thanks for your assistance.

The part needs to be securely mounted for it to sense impact and deploy the air bags
that can be achieved by mounting a bracket around it to hold it in place
parts can be obtained from the wreckers / junk yards or generic units from e-bay or quality auto spares shops and while the dealer says that the part is no longer available for that model , it may just have a number change and fit a later model
GM will not make the part but use a manufacturer item and place it in a GM box to inflate the price

SOURCE: find front airbag sensor 2003 Sierra

The front crash sensor is on or near the radiator support under the hood, it is a little square box, one question why do you think it has a problem? it is a mechanical device, a steel ball bearing sitting in an inverted cone, when you crash the ball bearing breaks free of the magnet, that breaks a connection and signals the airbag monitor to fire the airbags, it takes a 5+ MPH impact to set all this in motion, there are side impact sensors as well, the physics of these are a little different, they are measured in G force of the impact, hope all this doesn't bore, one note the fuel that fires the air bag is made by the same folks that make rocket fuel for the solid fuel boosters of the space shuttle.

  1. Remove the mirror cover screw and lift the cover and pivot the mirror towards the window.
  2. Remove the mirror to door bolts and remove the mirror and seal from the door.
  3. To install, position the mirror and seal to the door and install the retaining bolts.
  4. Pivot the mirror away from the window, and lower the mirror cover.
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 - heater blows, but only cold air

Check coolant level. Check for heat at the heater hose going from water pump to heater core at firewall. Check to see that cable is moving coolant control valve from the closed to open position. Low mileage so it shouldn't be plugged heater core.

Testimonial: "You were absolutely correct. Low coolant level. Put in some 50/50 and we're nice and toasty now, but need to find out why coolant was so low. Thanks."

Where is the egr valve located on my 1995 gmc sierra 1500 4.3 eng?

The EGR is typically put behind and under the air cleaner on the passenger side, it is between the distributor and the throttle body. The EGR is mounted to the intake manifold by two bolts and remove the rubber vacuum line.
Must use correct sealing gasket.
