if you've changed the spark plug and no difference, then it's time to swap the coil with another cyl. coil and see if the miss goes to the other cylinder, if it does'nt follow to other cylinder, then I would replace that injector !
Check for a Vacuum leak on your vacuum lines and replace the Gas Cap. I don't think that is the cause of your miss though. Check your timing and see if it is jumping. If the timing is jumping around then the problem is going to be a Crank or CAM position sensor or a stretched Timing belt for the Misses.
It can be related. Was this a real highflow like a maganaflow or catco or was it one of the straight through designs? if you can see through it, even if it is marketed as a cat, it isnt.
Thats an Eng miss start by replace plugs & wires or get a scan tool locat cyl, or get chicken pliers pull wires on at a time to look for bad cyl, get pliers at home depot elec department made of plastic wish you luck
did you check your plug wires for grounds? do you have coils or a cap and rotor (i would think by '99 that thay would have deep sixed the distributor, but i have been wrong before)? have you checked the fuel pressure? possible blocked filter? can the problem be replicated in neutral or does it only happen in a 'load'?
What about the control switch, did you change it????? usually the switch will only run on one speed. mesna the switch is bad. You could pull the switch off, and get a jumper wire and cross the other speeds out to see if they will work.
