I have a 1996 Ford Mustang Base / V6-3.8L, the problem I have is that I drive it for a little bit and then when I go and get in it will not start tries to start but wont, I will wait any weres from one hour to three hours before it will start again. I have replaced the gas cap, replaced the fuel filter, and the darn coil as advised, however it is has cured the problem, some say that it is the EEC relay, so where the heck is it located, everything I read about a EEC relay applies the GT model, this is not a GT, help

The starting relay module is located on the radiator fan mount close to the fan for cooling. They do go bad on 96 3.8. An 8m/m socket is needed to unplug harness retaining bolt

SOURCE: 2005 ford ranger fuel pump relay gets hot and engine dies

Like Laurie Mack said. It is the inertia switch below the glove box. Here is some funny information. DON'T change the fuel pump first. Interesting fact: I bought the new inertia switch from Ford and the install instructions that came with it said to install the switch in the protected area to the right where the fuses are. It is like Ford knows it was a dumb place to put the inertia switch, but they won't let you know until after you buy a new one. I have read at least 20 other people on here that had the same problem I just had.

SOURCE: 99 ford mustang gt, won't start not getting fuel

Fuel reset is in the trunk look in the trunk along the side for a hole you will see a with button push down. To check relay just turn your key forward and lsiten for a click sound thats the easiest and fastiest way to check it. (Fuel pump relay should be located under the hood in the engine compartment.)

SOURCE: will airbags from a 1997 mustang work on a 2000 v6

Only 99-02 will work on a 2000, and they show a base model airbag and a GT model airbag.

My 1986 Mustang Gt starts up fine... sputters a little when i put it in reverse and when im driving it... it will sputter a little bit like a huff and puff.. does this sometimes when i'm idle.. but the car...

Plugs and wires are a good start, if they haven't been replaced for a while. I would change the fuel filter and check the air filter. The fuel filter is often overlooked. The ones I change, you wouldn't believe the dirt that's in them.
