Click on the link for starter wiring. Not sure what's going on with your tranny? You can see in the diagram, the tranny module gets voltage from the crank position, ignition switch. You can also see the fuse, not only check the fuse, use a testlight and check voltage on fuse circuit.
Any testing, make sure functional parking brake is set and block the wheels. be safe. Safety is your responsibility.
Battery has a full charge and battery connections all good?
Clean your battery terminal and all ground connections. Get the battery tested. Replace if necessary. If it still happens, you'll have to get an electrical diagram and check circuits from the ignition switch to the starter
Did you check the timing belt to see if it broke? It ha a 2.5 and it has belt. Remove timing cover at the front of the engine and have someone crank it while you watch the cam to see if it turns. If it doesn't turn, replace the belt.
you could very have a transponder key that has failed to let the circuit complete to start the car. check that with your local locksmith. also try to unlock your doors manually with key , on the driver side and turn to unlock at least three times, i know it sounds stupid but your car has a passive alarm built in that will prohibit it from starting sometimes because it was designed so well.:) good luck.
