I have a 03 gmc sonoma 4.3 vortec... I just cut the cat. converter off and im not installing a new one because I just put dual exhaust on it.... But when i chopped old one off the engine light came on. How could I go about rewiring the wires that came off the 02 sensor to trip the check engine light to thinking it still has one on it lol... I just want the check engine light off without having to blow a hole in the dashboard with a .22 pistol or installing a new 02 sensor... Need some feedback it has 4 wires on the 02 sensor...

did you make a new ground when you wired it up and if you did where did you get the power for these trailer wires if you made a new ground and using the same circuit as the runnin light the running lights might be using this new ground the ground to the running lights might be corroded or broke but ned more info to be sure

if you look at the front of the motor you will notice one cyclinder is further forward then the other... that first cyclinder would be 1. i'm guessing the side opposite to cyclinder one would be bank two.

Are you needing advice, links, tricks, or all of the above?
If it's advice you want:
If you are not buying an after market harness and all of the oem wiring is intact replace one wire at a time from the component all the way back to the fuse box. Its tedious but, it's a sure fire way to get it right the first time.
Secondly, I'd by a haynes manual or some other wiring diagram. Study it for at least a couple weeks or until you are completely comfortable taking on the task.
Color code your wires and label both the old and new ones with paper tape and a permanent marker so that you know what each one is for.
Last but not least, make sure that the battery is disconnected... ;o)
