Take your radio out (Using an Allen wrench) there are 2 little doors on either side of your radio. Back out the recessed allen head screws till it stops and withdraw the radio out. Disconnect the radio wiring(no need to worry they only fit one way) take the radio to the dealer with your Reg. or title and ask the service advisor for the code. (they might try to charge you for the code. But just complain and say" that you have had many bmw and you've been comming to the dealer for parts for years now and it that how you treat me"!) that should get you the code (If you are a woman then wear something tight & Skimpy) same effect. put the radio back in and input the code...

You should be good to go.

You'll need the vin from the 740il or perhaps a code on the radio or even the s/n ?n the radio and a dealer can help you. You may have to indicate to the dealer the radio wasn't stolen/hot.

Had to replace battery now radio is asking for code

The correct radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Removal Info here

www.fitaudio.com

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes and a 14 character Serial Number stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

I just replaced the battery in my recently bought 92 bmw 735i it did not have owners manual and I don't have a radio code, is there a universal code

You will have to pull the radio out of the dash far enough to get the serial number. The dealer can look up the code, given the radio serial number. If they want to charge you for this service, find a different dealer.

I have a 1994 BMW I havethe code for the radio but I can't unlock

I recently had my starter motor replaced. When I got in to drive my car the radio was showing "CODE" I have the code for my radio serial number (if you don't then you will need to get the serial number from the back of your radio unit and call your local BMW dealer, they have a database that they can look up for the correct code). Nothing was working and the unit kept beeping at me! I was trying everything and nothing was working. I since found out that the unit had "locked" me out! I rang the dealership, they said to leave the car in ignition with the radio on for exactly 1 hour (this resets it) then put in the code. Voila! It worked!

Radio code

you will have to pull the radio out of your vehicle and get the serial number off of it. bmw keeps a record of old radio codes. if you take your vehicle to the dealership usually they will retrieve radio codes for free. And even pull the radio out to get the serial number.

Need code for radio 95 bmw 525i

If you do not have the code written in your owners manual or on some other piece of material you got with the purchase of your car then the only way to get the code is to remove the radio, check the serial number and call BMW with that serial number. Good luck!
