Yes, the heater core is leaking coolent and when the heat is turned on , the evaporated coolent is what is steaming your windshield.
Replace the heater core to solve this problem.

Fogging up your interiors windsheild? The smell of coolant in your vehicle?

If your windsheild starts to steam up while driving your heater core has a leak causing this. Also you may receive the smell of burnt coolant before the fog starts activating. Best thing to do it get it repaired asap. Your coolant level will go down everyday you keep driving this way. The smell will get you sick to your stomach as well

Heating coil leaking film on the windshield and causes it to fog and does not clear quickly

what you describe is a leaking heater core, which will leak fluid into the passenger side floorboard, the "sweet smell is antifreeze,if you have in the radiator at this time.if you have the defroster on,the windsheild will fog with a sticky substance, left over steam from the cooling system leaking into the cars interior. the only way to repair this issue is to have your heater core replaced. it's a job! under the dash, behind the glove box, and the external hoses to the heater core are under the hood at the passengers side, just under the windsheild, but what we call the firewall. you will see 2 black hoses protruding through the {firewall,or dash from outside) those hoses will need to be removed,as well, as along with 35 screws under the dash to replace the bad heater core. suggest you call around for prices.the heater core itself ranges in price from 35.00 to 65.00 but the labor is the bang! research local garages for prices, but you have until cold weather to replace it,only because the heater core supplys heat to the inside of your vehicle. good luck, and i really mean research now, because most garages are not dealing with such issues now,due to warm weather.thank you for choosing fixya.com!

While driving my 95 explorer i noticed the heater wasnt getting hot its luke warm and when i turn on the defroster i start to smell anti freeze and all of the windows fog up

no heat is probably low coolant or bad thermostat, although you have fog and smell ! the heating and cooling systems are closed systems the only way the windows fog is the coolant is hot and steams inside the car due to some leak inside the heater core box. as well as the smell being present. Now it is possible that a little leak has occured where the coolant supply or return line connects to the heater core and is running into the car which is running onto the core and creating steam and smell. hopefully it is a easy clamp tighten fix for you.

Why my window is fogging whe i turn the heater ?? i recently bought my toyota carina 3 model 1994 but the window is fogging , what should i do?

Make sure the vent system is set to draw air from outside. If it is set to recirculate the same air that's inside the vehicle without drawing fresh air from outside, the resulting humidity that builds up inside the vehicle can fog the windows even when you run the defrost. You can also try opening the windows a bit to get some more air moving inside.
If it still fogs when the vents are set properly, you may have a leaky heater core. The heater core is a small radiator that is located under the dash that the heater system blows air through to heat the inside of your car and provide heat to defrost the windshield. The fog may be coming from the heater core leaking hot coolant steam that's being circulated through the defrost system. If this is so, you will need to replace the heater core.

Windows fogging inside car, maybe a vaccum leak?

If you feel warm air blowing up on your windshield and If your heater is working, I would guess its a coolant leak, probably the heater core. Usually a coolant leak will leave a kind of "greasy" fog that is more difficult to wipe off. It is basically steam coating your windows. You should be able to smell coolant if its leaking.
If no warm air is blowing, I would guess an issue with your heater control module or a vacuum problem of not supplying vacuum to move the plenum door.

Hope that helps.

The windows will not defrost on my 2000 dodge durango 4.7l 4x4 do you think it is the heater core? or should i try flushing the system first?

If the heater core is leaking it will blow steam out onto the windshield fogging it up. Check your coolant level in the radiator. Check for wet carpet near the heater blower motor. Is it blowing hot??

My front defroster is not working at its best, however the back one is working properly. If I add any heat while trying to defrost my windows the problem get worst.

Sounds like the heater core is leaking coolant. If it is leaking it will blow steam out of defrost vents and fog the windshield. Symptoms: low coolant level in radiator, steam coming out vents when engine is warmed up, odor of anti-freeze coming out of vents, wet carpet in floorboard near heater blower motor.
If so, replace heater core.

Antifreeze steam comeing through vents

Your heater core has a leak, it's like a small radiator that heats up and the blower motor blows air thru it to create heat in the car. It is leaking anti freeze into the heater box.
